This patch corrects Siemens PLCSIM Advanced event-buffer consumption. The
application remains version 2.0.0; the Windows distribution and PLCSIM Advanced
V6/V7/V8 bindings and workers advance to 2.0.1.

What Changed

PLCSIM Advanced V6/V7/V8 now read FIFO positions from Index_OUT up to, but
excluding, Index_IN, including when BufferFull is set. The next producer
write slot remains outside the readable range. A full FIFO contains
BufferLength - 1 readable entries; the configured batch limit still applies.
Batch publication and release ordering are unchanged.

Regression tests cover full and wrapped FIFO ranges, batch limits, unused-slot
contents, invalid metadata and capacity boundaries. The
PLC-owned contract reference
has been refreshed to the recorded clarification. This PC-side fix requires
no PLC project download or shared API migration. Application behavior and
shared APIs are unchanged.

Included Components

Component Package version
Windows distribution / installer 2.0.1
WPF/CLI application package 2.0.0
Siemens access profile 2.0.0
TIA Openness bindings: V15.1, V17, V18, V19, V20, V21 2.0.0 each
PLCSIM Advanced bindings and workers: V6, V7, V8 2.0.1 each
Beckhoff TwinCAT 3.1 Build 4026 access profile 1.0.0

The WPF About dialog continues to show application version 2.0.0. Component
versions are independent of the installer version. The distribution contains
twelve packages; the Fake profile remains a development/test facility.

Requirements And Installation

Host and vendor prerequisites remain unchanged: Windows x64, .NET 8 Desktop
Runtime x64, .NET Framework 4.8, and the engineering/runtime products and
authorization required by the selected profile. Use the Windows installer and
refresh profile registrations if requested. See the
installation and maintenance guide
and the owning Siemens and
Beckhoff documentation.

The installer is unsigned. Compare its SHA-256 against SHA256SUMS and retain
the matching bundle-manifest.json. Checksums establish integrity, not publisher
identity.

Verification Scope

The existing release qualification reports:

  • 689 offline tests passed: V6 224, V7 224, V8 241, including the FIFO regressions.
  • V8 polling and plcCycle each passed two live runs, with 78/78 tests per run,
667 contiguous events, complete evidence and zero event loss.
  • Successful Siemens smoke tests in the Debug WPF application and installed
WPF application were confirmed by the operator.
  • Package, bundle, notices, installer composition, CLI and registration checks
    passed.

These figures describe the original release preparation. Public source checks
are listed separately below. The full-buffer boundary is covered by offline
regressions; no live full-buffer reproduction is claimed. V6/V7 have no new live
qualification against their native runtime versions.

Public Source Verification

The V6/V7/V8 solutions built successfully in Debug and Release, including their
production and test workers, with zero build warnings or errors. Offline tests
passed in both configurations:

Binding Debug Release
V6 219 219
V7 219 219
V8 228 228

Each run includes all fifteen new FIFO regression cases for that binding.
The filter FullyQualifiedName!~RealRuntimeTests excludes all live-runtime
test classes, including Abort scenarios. All 1,332 selected test executions
passed, with no failures or skipped tests. These counts reflect the explicit
offline selection and differ from the original release's reported totals.
Verification used the Windows .NET SDK 10.0.403, targeting the existing .NET 8
and .NET Framework 4.8 projects.

The public import independently verified the installer and bundle checksums,
all twelve package-manifest hashes against the bundle pins, and the imported
source files against the selective source export. These checks do not establish
live runtime qualification or installer install/upgrade/uninstall behavior.
No live runtime tests, interactive WPF smoke tests, installer execution or
release-artifact rebuilds were performed during this public verification.

Artifact Provenance

The installer, bundle-manifest.json and SHA256SUMS are the original release
files, retained without rebuilding or modifying their bytes. The
2.0.1 bundle definition
matches the release bundle byte-for-byte and pins the exact package manifests.

Release source identities:

  • Distribution snapshot: 62e50fcb05ec326ca6b3c591ee8d07c1e59234ab.
  • PLCSIM Advanced V6/V7/V8 binding packages: b3a7275903b51a4aea5c13ebc04fe09be56b560d.

The other nine component packages reuse the original development release's
2.0.0 distribution inventory, retaining their own versions and source revisions.
Their manifest pins differ from those in the previous public
2.0.0 bundle. Reuse refers to
that original inventory; byte identity with the previous GitHub 2.0.0 packages
has not been established.

The public repository selectively integrates the release source while retaining
its public build tooling and canonical contract binaries. The supplied artifacts
were built from the source revisions recorded by their package manifests; they
are not builds of the public integration commit. Public source builds produce
separate outputs and must not replace these release files under the same version.
