Critical Fix: Actually Download and Install Mods

This release fixes the root cause of why mods weren't being installed.

The Problem

ficsit-cli has TWO steps:

  1. set-profile - Links a profile to the game installation (we were doing this)
  2. apply - Actually downloads and installs mods (we were NOT doing this!)

So we were telling ficsit-cli 'use this profile' but never telling it to 'install the mods from that profile'.

What's Fixed

Now we call ficsit-cli apply <game_path> which actually downloads and installs all mods to FactoryGame/Mods/.

Expected Result

  • All 31 mods should show as [OK] in verification (including dependencies)
  • No more 'Missing Plugin' errors
  • ModUpdateNotifier, avMallLib, etc. will be properly downloaded

Download

Download SatisfactoryModInstaller.exe below and run it.

v1.1.5

@github-actions github-actions released this 30 Dec 06:27

Critical Fix: Dependency Mods Not Installing

This release fixes the core issue where dependency mods (like ModUpdateNotifier, avMallLib) were NOT actually being installed, causing 'Missing Plugin' errors in the game.

What Was Wrong

Previous versions assumed ficsit-cli would auto-install dependencies. It didn't - the mods were never actually placed in the game folder.

What's Fixed

  • ALL mods now installed explicitly - Dependencies are no longer filtered out
  • Proper verification - Missing mods show as 'Not installed' instead of falsely reporting 'Auto-resolved'

Expected Result

After running v1.1.5:

  • All 31 mods should show as '[OK]' in verification
  • No more 'Missing Plugin' errors in the game
  • ModUpdateNotifier, avMallLib, and other dependencies will be present

Download

v1.1.4

Critical Fix: 'Installation Already Present' Error

This release fixes the bug that was preventing ALL mods from installing.

The Problem

When your Satisfactory game was already registered with ficsit-cli, it returned 'installation already present'. Our installer was treating this as an error and aborting before installing any mods.

The Fix

Now we correctly recognize 'installation already present' as success and continue with mod installation.

Symptoms This Fixes

  • All mods showing as 'failed via ficsit-cli'
  • Missing Plugin errors in game (like 'ModUpdateNotifier' or 'avMallLib')
  • Dependencies not being installed

Download

Download SatisfactoryModInstaller.exe below and run it.

Verbose Error Output for Debugging

This release adds detailed error messages so we can see exactly what's failing with ficsit-cli.

What's New

  • Actual error messages - Instead of just 'failed via ficsit-cli', you'll now see the real error
  • Step-by-step diagnostics - Shows which step succeeded/failed:
    • [OK] Registration: Added installation: C:\...\Satisfactory
    • [OK] Profile: Created profile: ServerMods
    • [FAILED] Profile: unknown command 'create' (example)
  • Detailed mod errors - [WARN] SmartFoundations failed: profile with name ServerMods does not exist

Why This Matters

v1.1.2 fixed the profile command (new instead of create), but you may have been running an older cached version. With this release, you'll see the actual errors which will help diagnose the issue.

Download

Download SatisfactoryModInstaller.exe below and run it.

Important: Make sure to download this fresh version - don't use a cached older version!

Critical Fix - ficsit-cli Profile Command

What Was Wrong

The installer was using ficsit profile create but ficsit-cli actually uses ficsit profile new. This caused:

  • Profile creation to fail silently
  • All 22 mods to show as 'failed via ficsit-cli'
  • Mods still appeared installed because they were from previous direct-download attempts

What's Fixed

  • Corrected command from profile create to profile new
  • Added better error logging to capture ficsit-cli output
  • More detailed debug logging for future troubleshooting

Download

Download SatisfactoryModInstaller.exe below and run it - no installation required!

Important: Delete your existing mods folder and run this version to get a clean ficsit-cli installation.
