    • Holds will no longer release as long as the lane is pressed by something. This prevents the situation where the hold is released by an input that was pressed prior to the hold note existing.

    • We had our own version before, but removed it because I thought it didn't fit in well.
    • Now we can use the same one that mania and catch uses.

What's Changed

  • 🌟 Reimplement slide order leniency by @LumpBloom7 in #564

    • Players tended to be more approximate when following slides, this change makes sure that players aren't cheated out of a slide that they feel they deserve to hit.
    • The strict behavior can still be enabled in HR :)
  • 🌟 Avoid div-by-zero in LiveCounter by @LumpBloom7 in #563

    • The challenge shouldn't be in avoiding crashes

What's Changed

  • 🌟 Animation speed changes by @LumpBloom7 in #510
    • Now the speed values are more in line with what maimai uses
    • Players now adjust the note speed number rather than the note durations
  • 🌟 Give slides a higher acc/combo weighting by @LumpBloom7 in #514
    • Maimai gave more weight to slides, being worth 3x taps. Now the same is true in sentakki.
  • 🌟 Remove health mechanics by @LumpBloom7 in #516
    • Now players won't get skill issue'd by a single break note. :)
  • 🌟 Allow slide bodies to hit as soon as SlideTaps are judged by @LumpBloom7 in #515
    • Previously they only responded to slide input AFTER the tap note crossees the ring, potentially causing the slides to ignore attempts to complete the slide.

What's Changed

  • 🌟🌟 Implement revamped beatmap converter by @LumpBloom7 in #481
    • This is a complete rewrite of how std beatmaps are converted, with the end result being more dependent on the original std map, rather than RNG from a fixed set of patterns.

      • ❗ This is the default converter since it generates more playable maps. The old converter can be re-enabled via the experimental mod
    • Streams, jumps, and stacks from the original std beatmap will be better represented

    • Slide notes are more frequent, dropping the HitWhistle requirement

    • maimaiDX slide chains could show up in converted beatmaps now

      • The option to disable this will arrive in Classic mod in the future.

    • ❗ Touch notes have been excluded from conversions for now

      • I don't have any good ideas on how to include them without making gameplay feel like crap
      • If anyone has any ideas on a conversion rule/heuristic for Touch notes, please reach out to me so we can give it a shot.
    • ❗ The twin experiments are not applicable to this new converter, and will have no effect.

  • 🌟 Implement EX notes by @LumpBloom7 in #483
    • These are notes that provide an "all or nothing judgement". Any non-miss judgements will be treated as a perfect hit, allowing for mappers to make complex patterns, while not raising difficulty too much.
    • These notes are indicated with a glow around the notes, rather than a drop shadow

      • A choice between Maji and Gati judgement modes can be made in mod configuration
    • Minimum HitResult (or Gori) has been implemented as a separate option, allowing a more flexible combination of difficulty options
      • For reference, maimai would use Gati hitwindows when Gori is enabled, but now you can choose which hitwindows to use with the minimum HitResult option (including the default windows)
