Mod Studio 1.2.0 – Launch animation and a better quick editor

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 28 Oct 15:05

Launch animation and a better quick editor.

  • Launch animation in the browser tab: a glass veil with the logo and a scanning bar while the app loads.
  • Quick editor: its own colour picker (colour square, hue slider, hex field, recent colours) instead of the system dialog, an eyedropper, brush size 1 to 6 px, rotate 90° left/right and mirror horizontally/vertically.
  • Fixes the overlapping text in the Blockbench card (1.1.3).

Fixes the Blockbench card in the Shapes tab: the description text no longer runs under the button.

Mod Studio 1.1.2 – Faster starts, stable shortcuts

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 28 Oct 13:39

Faster starts, stable shortcuts.

  • The Java, Node and Gradle runtime is unpacked once into %LOCALAPPDATA%/ModStudio/runtime and shared by every version: the first start takes about a minute, later starts and updates about two seconds.
  • Setup keeps the desktop and Start menu shortcuts pointing at the installed version (and creates them if missing), and says "Mod Studio startet" instead of "wird installiert" when that version is already installed.

See SHA256SUMS.txt for the checksums.

Mod Studio 1.1.1 – Quits when the last tab closes

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 28 Oct 12:42

Mod Studio quits when you close its browser tab.

  • Closing the last Mod Studio browser tab now ends the app: the server and the tray icon disappear a few seconds later (a reload keeps it running).
  • Bigger textures (16 to 128 px), Blockbench as the main editor and the glass launcher from 1.1.0 are included.

See SHA256SUMS.txt for the checksums.

Mod Studio 1.1.0 – Bigger textures, Blockbench first

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 28 Oct 12:08

Bigger textures, Blockbench as the main editor, new launcher.

  • Textures up to 128 px: every element can be 16, 32, 64 or 128 px square. Changing the size keeps your pixels crisp; the Blockbench bridge, the Java build and the AI sketches follow the chosen size.
  • Blockbench is the main editor: the Shapes tab now leads with "Paint and model in Blockbench", opening inside Mod Studio with your texture at its real size. The first element opens straight in Blockbench. The old 16×16 pixel editor stays as a collapsible quick editor.
  • New launcher: a glass-style start window with rounded corners, logo and an animated progress bar, matching the app.

See SHA256SUMS.txt for the checksums.

Mod Studio 1.0.1 – Dialogs close properly

@LvisXVI LvisXVI released this 28 Oct 10:48

Dialogs and the Blockbench editor close properly.

  • Escape and a click on the dimmed area close every dialog and the Blockbench layer; Escape also works while focus is inside Blockbench.
  • Ctrl+Z no longer breaks undo while typing, and Ctrl+K no longer opens "New project" over an open dialog.
  • The time tracker label is German ("Aktive Zeit"), the top bar has an even rhythm and more readable small text.
  • The website shows a sharp preview video and screenshots.

See SHA256SUMS.txt for the checksums.

Mod Studio 1.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 27 Oct 23:03

Mod Studio 1.0.0 is the first full release, built on everything from the alpha series: Liquid Glass with five switchable designs, the full Blockbench 5.2.2 editor built in (guided steps for shape, texture and in-game preview), the pixel texture editor, an assistant chat with bubbles, a one-click self-update and a new app icon. The verified build target is Minecraft Java 26.2 with Fabric; other loaders and versions follow as their adapters are verified. Earlier alphas: alpha 13 added the app icon. Mod Studio has its own app icon (a pixel-art block with a pencil) in the installer, launcher, tray, taskbar and browser tab. Alpha 12: the full Blockbench 5.2.2 editor (GPL-3.0, unmodified) is built in. Open an element with Edit in Blockbench, follow the three guided steps (build shape, paint texture, preview in game) and take the model back with Apply or Ctrl+S. The assistant chat in the Glass skin now uses message bubbles. Alpha 11: edits made while a save is in flight are no longer overwritten. The verified build target remains Minecraft Java 26.2 with Fabric.

New in alpha 11: edits made while a save is still in flight are no longer overwritten by the server response (typing right after adding an element could previously revert the name). Alpha 10: Liquid Glass is the default surface with a one-click Workshop/Glass switch in the top bar. The verified build target remains Minecraft Java 26.2 with Fabric.
