YieldLag 0.3.2: version-aware Zenodo citation
Updates the R package citation to use the installed package version automatically and links the Zenodo archive in citation metadata and the README. This corrects the historical fixed 0.3.0 citation text.
The modelling implementation and bundled data are unchanged. Software is MIT licensed; data retain their provider terms and attribution.
The package builds with rendered vignettes. Local R CMD check includes examples, tests, and vignette rebuilding.
YieldLag 0.3.1: archival citation release
Archival release of the latest YieldLag repository snapshot.
Adds author ORCID 0000-0002-3323-5952 and affiliation to CITATION.cff and Zenodo metadata. Updates the package version to 0.3.1 for an immutable archival release while retaining the 0.3.0 modelling implementation.
Local R CMD check, including examples, tests, and vignette rebuilding, completed with Status: OK.
Software license: MIT. Bundled Poland data retain their provider terms and attribution in inst/extdata/poland/DATA_LICENSE.md. The Poland examples are retrospective benchmarks and do not establish operational forecast skill or universal model superiority.
YieldLag 0.3.0: calibration and uncertainty
YieldLag 0.3.0 adds separate chronological interval calibration and paired year-block uncertainty estimates for regional crop-yield modelling.
Package changes
calibration_yearsreserves a block after tuning and before evaluation; zero preserves the previous behavior.compare_crop_errors()compares paired RMSE while retaining all regions in sampled consecutive year blocks and preserving the caller's random state.- Stress-basis and regional-effect controls support controlled ablations.
- Reports document the calibration phase, and constant-response correlations are handled without numerical warnings.
Installation
install.packages("remotes")
remotes::install_github("MR-Eini/yieldlag", ref = "v0.3.0", build_vignettes = FALSE)The attached source package includes rendered tutorials. Code is MIT licensed; bundled data retain their provider terms and attribution.
Documentation · Poland example
The original software release passed local R CMD check with zero errors, warnings and notes, and all four GitHub package checks passed. The software source attachment is unchanged. verification-v0.3.0.txt and SHA256SUMS.txt document the software attachment and the current documentation checks.
YieldLag 0.2.0
YieldLag models regional crop yields from seasonal climate with chronological tuning and evaluation.
Documentation website · Poland results and plots
New in 0.2.0
- Seasonal stress-lag estimator: asymmetric weather-anomaly responses, explicitly mapped compound hot-dry interactions, and smooth seasonal coefficients. Training-window climatology and preprocessing are refitted at each forecast origin.
- Prediction decomposition: additive trend, regional, weather, compound, and residual components reproduce the fitted prediction.
- Training-support diagnostics: identify weather terms outside training ranges and previously unseen regions.
- Deterministic nonlinear example: a documented synthetic response supports reproducible method comparison and recovery tests.
- Updated documentation: model equations, validation assumptions, data specifications, and rendered tutorials.
The package and repository are now named YieldLag; the R package name is yieldlag.
Installation
install.packages("remotes")
remotes::install_github("MR-Eini/yieldlag", ref = "v0.2.0",
build_vignettes = FALSE)
library(yieldlag)The attached source archive includes rendered tutorials. It requires R 4.2 or later; model estimation uses R's standard libraries.
Verification
The local R 4.5.2 package check completed with zero errors, warnings, or notes. All four GitHub checks passed: current R on Linux, Windows, and macOS, and R 4.2 on Linux. Tests cover transformed features, temporal leakage, prediction decomposition, diagnostics, and nonlinear response recovery. The 19 bundled numeric-input checksums are verified.
For the declared synthetic response, later-period province-year RMSE was 0.172 for stress_lag and 1.696 for panel_ridge over 90 province-years. This is a controlled recovery test, not evidence of predictive superiority on real crops.
SHA256SUMS.txt and verification.json document the attached archive and checks.
Model and data interpretation
The nonlinear basis estimates associations in monthly weather; anomaly thresholds are not physiological crop-damage thresholds. Complete harvest-year weather and fixed area weights make the bundled Poland example a retrospective benchmark. Code is MIT licensed; data attribution and provider terms are documented separately.
cropyieldmodel 0.1.0
Initial version of the regional crop-yield modelling package, released under the name cropyieldmodel.
Includes six base estimators, a regularized ensemble, chronological model comparison, empirical intervals, area-weighted aggregation, and Poland and synthetic examples. The source archive includes function documentation and rendered tutorials.
The project is now named YieldLag. See YieldLag releases for current versions. This historical archive retains its original R package name.
The local R 4.5.2 package check and four-platform GitHub check matrix passed. Archive checksums and verification metadata accompany the source package. The bundled Poland example is a retrospective benchmark with fixed area weights; code and data terms are documented separately.
