Top Spin 4 - Mabec Games

Warning

This is an early version. It has only been tested and confirmed working on Linux so far.
The Windows build passes automated smoke tests on GitHub Actions, but hasn't been played on a real Windows PC yet.

If you run into any problem, please open a new issue with as much detail as possible:

  • your OS and GPU
  • the launcher settings you used
  • what happened and where in the game
  • the steps to reproduce it
  • the xenia.log from the launcher's folder

Every report helps.

Play the Xbox 360 version of Top Spin 4 on PC. The launcher is based on Xenia Edge (Xbox 360 emulator), which is built in, so there is nothing else to download. You only need your own copy of Top Spin 4 (Xbox 360 disc image); no game files are included.

On first start, enter a gamertag. Then pick your Top Spin 4 .iso on the Game tab and press PLAY. Your settings, profile and saves are kept in a data folder next to the launcher.

Highlights

  • Xenia Edge built in (pinned build 1574493).
  • Fixes the freeze after "Press Start". Two game threads were spin-waiting on each other inside Xenia Edge's scheduler. In automated tests, boots went from 1 in 4 to 26 of 26 across 720p, 1440p and 4K.
  • No profile prompts. The launcher creates a proper Xbox 360 profile for you.
  • Resolutions: 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K and Steam Deck 800p, with FXAA and AMD FSR/CAS.
  • GPU picker showing your graphics cards by name.
  • Add to Steam with library artwork, for Steam and Remote Play Together.

Known issues

  • Escape opens Xenia's overlay menu (hard-coded in Xenia Edge); press Escape again to close it.
  • After pressing Start, loading can occasionally pause for 10–30 seconds before it continues.
  • Online play used Xbox LIVE, which is shut down. For 1v1 online, use Steam Remote Play Together, Parsec or Sunshine/Moonlight.
  • Keep the frame-rate limit at 60; higher values speed up the game.
