The three services are deployed separately. Deploy them in this order since Backend depends on MCP Server being live first.
- MCP Server → Render
- Backend → Render
- Frontend → Vercel
- Go to Render and create a new Web Service.
- Connect your GitHub repository.
- Set the Root Directory to
MCP Server. - Set the Build Command to
npm install. - Set the Start Command to
node index.js. - No environment variables are needed.
- Deploy and note the URL — you will need it for the Backend.
- Create another new Web Service on Render using the same repository.
- Set the Root Directory to
Backend. - Set the Build Command to
npm install. - Set the Start Command to
node server.js. - Add the following environment variables in the Render dashboard:
| Variable | Value |
|---|---|
| PORT | 3000 |
| MONGO_URL | Your MongoDB Atlas connection string |
| JWT_TOKEN | Your JWT secret key |
| GROQ_API_KEY | Your Groq API key |

Render free tier services spin down after a period of inactivity. The first request after idle may take 30 to 60 seconds while the service wakes up. This is expected behavior on the free plan.
