OffPDF v0.5.0 adds bounded editing of text already present in a PDF.
In Edit PDF, choose Edit text. Supported existing lines appear in boxes; click a line to edit it in place. OffPDF uses the document's own font, previews and verifies the result, and saves to a new file without overwriting the original. Lines it cannot change safely stay untouched and explain why.
This is not free-form editing of every PDF. It works one line at a time, only with glyphs available in the PDF's font. It does not reflow paragraphs, replace existing images, or edit scanned text, text inside reusable blocks, or signed or encrypted files.
Also in this release: keyboard navigation for the home tool search; an offline shortcuts reference; refreshed previews when a source file changes; safer Edit PDF saves and job IDs; and better dialog keyboard behavior.
Known issue: Some real-device HEIC/HEIF files may still crash on Windows; investigation continues in issue #14.
Packages:
- Signed and notarized DMG for Apple Silicon Macs.
- Windows x64 NSIS installer, still unsigned while Authenticode signing is pending. Verify the accompanying SHA-256 file before use.
