The 1.2.0 release includes a new QOL feature and some bugfixes to make the button actions a lot more smooth and flexible.

Firmware

No Changes, Firmware remains at version 1.1.0

Integration

Feature: Add ability to give buttons a friendly name

You can now give any button a short friendly name (e.g. "Lights") via the new edit friendly name option in each button's menu. When set, the name appears in parentheses next to the button name throughout the menus (e.g. Button 01 R1C1 (Lights)), making it easier to find and edit a button's configuration. Friendly names are included in the import/export configuration and move with a button when its configuration is moved to another button.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed some issues with more advanced actions not functioning correctly by making it so that button actions are now executed through Home Assistant's native script engine instead of a custom action runner.
  • Fixed issue with jinja2 templating not being rendered correctly in actions with custom text by ensuring it is resolved before sending to the script engine.

The 1.1.0 Release has some minor feature updates to make things easier to use.

Firmware

  • Removed optional substitution for brightness scaling master selection as this is now done in a much better way using the Integration (see below).
  • Build using ESPHome 2026.9.0 to take advantage of the latest optimizations and improvements

Integration

  • Feature: Added "Master Brightness" slider, This allows to easily set and adjust a max brightness for the LEDs, Brightness set in the LED rules with scale within this new limit.
  • Feature: Added option to move a buttons configuration to another button.
  • Improvement: Added button name to the sub-menu descriptions.
  • Fix: When setting a new configuration, All LEDs are updates with those without LED bindings turned off. This prevents remnants of previous configs being left behind and LEDs needing to be manually switched off.
