Release list
Glint 1.3
Important
Glint only works in 60 Hz mode. If a game switches the PS5 to 120 Hz, capture stops until you restart the console.
- Glint turns 120 Hz Output off while it runs and puts your setting back when you stop it.
- Load Glint from the home screen, before you start a game.
- A fix for 120 Hz mode is in the works.
Lower latency
- Sound much closer to the picture: about 55-80 ms behind instead of 95-130 ms.
- Sound recovers after a console freeze: it skips the backlog instead of playing up to a second behind for half a minute.
- The payload hands over frames and sound sooner: it notices each finished capture call within 0.1 ms instead of checking every 5 ms.
- Pictures go to the screen at the next refresh where the graphics driver supports it.
Smoother on Wi-Fi
The payload now streams at 35 Mbit/s (was 50). Over Wi-Fi, busy games at 50 Mbit/s or more could stall for a second or two; 35 stays at a steady 60 fps. With the PS5 on a cable you can go higher with the bitrate=N start argument (up to 100 Mbit/s) for a sharper picture in busy scenes.
New look
- Centred connect screens with a larger logo.
- New fonts: Space Grotesk for headings, Inter for text, JetBrains Mono for numbers.
- Settings and the gallery scroll at your monitor's full refresh rate.
- The Picture tab has its heading like the other tabs, and some Settings labels are clearer (for example Picture fit and Game audio).
Also
- Browser view on a Mac no longer freezes and falls behind (Safari and Chrome).
glint.loggets astats:line every 10 s while connected (network lateness, decode time, sound buffer, frame size, encoder quality), which helps when reporting stutter.
Install
- Download Glint.exe and Glint-1.3-ps5.elf below.
- Upload the
.elfto your PS5:
/data/pldmgr/payloads/local/glint/Glint-1.3-ps5.elf
(you can delete the oldGlint-1.2.1-ps5.elf) - From the home screen, load it from Payload Manager, then open
Glint.exe.
If it doesn't start, please open an issue with /data/glint/capture.log from the PS5.
Only tested on firmware 13.60 so far. Full details in the changelog.
Glint 1.2.1
Fixed
False 120 Hz message on 60 Hz screens. On some TVs and monitors, Glint said "the PS5 switched to 120 Hz output" even with 120 Hz off, and didn't start. Glint now only says that when the console really is at 120 Hz, and those consoles also get the automatic retry on the first start after a restart.
Install
- Download Glint.exe and Glint-1.2.1-ps5.elf below.
- Upload the
.elfto your PS5:
/data/pldmgr/payloads/local/glint/Glint-1.2.1-ps5.elf
(you can delete the oldGlint-1.2-ps5.elf) - From the home screen, load it from Payload Manager, then open
Glint.exe.
If it still doesn't start, please open an issue with /data/glint/capture.log from the PS5.
Only tested on firmware 13.60 so far. Full details in the changelog.
Glint 1.2
What's new
120 Hz Output is turned off while Glint runs. Glint sets Settings → Screen and Video → Video Output → 120 Hz Output to Off when it starts and puts it back when it stops. Games play at 60 Hz in the meantime.
Starts on the first try. After a PS5 restart, Glint used to fail the first time and needed loading again. It now retries by itself.
Clearer message. If a game did switch the console to 120 Hz, the console now tells you so and what to do.
Install
- Download Glint.exe and Glint-1.2-ps5.elf below.
- Upload the
.elfto your PS5:
/data/pldmgr/payloads/local/glint/Glint-1.2-ps5.elf
(you can delete the oldGlint-1.1-ps5.elf) - From the home screen, load it from Payload Manager, then open
Glint.exe.
If Glint is closed from Payload Manager, 120 Hz Output stays Off until the next time Glint stops normally. You can also set it back yourself in Settings.
Only tested on firmware 13.60 so far. Full details in the changelog.
Glint 1.1
What's new
Sharper picture. A new Picture tab in Settings: upscaling (FSR 1 or AI), sharpening, debanding and colour. Pick a profile or save your own presets.
Compare side by side. Press C to see the original and the enhanced picture next to each other. Scroll to zoom, drag to move, X to tweak.
Smoother browser view. Lower latency, less stutter, and sound is on by default.
One viewer at a time. Opening Glint somewhere else takes over the stream. The other side can take it back.
Better picture by default. The console now streams at 50 Mbit/s.
Lower sound delay in the app (about 190 → 100 ms).
Fixes
App
- Crash when zooming quickly
- Crash when opening the gallery
- "Invalid frame size" error when the stream was open somewhere else; it now says where
- Gallery didn't update when files were deleted or added in Explorer
- Screenshots showed 0x0 instead of their size
- Fit / 100% buttons in the viewer looked broken
- Couldn't drag around a zoomed screenshot
Browser
- Picture froze after a few seconds until the page was reloaded
- Bursts of stutter after a Wi-Fi hiccup (now one short pause)
- Kept downloading video in a hidden tab
- Used too much memory over time, which could break on phones and Safari
- "Watching" count was wrong (showed connections, not people)
PS5
- Glint only showed under "Show All System Processes" in Payload Manager
- Misleading "wait a minute" message: it now says to just load Glint again
- A failed start kept running for 30 seconds instead of quitting
- The log of a failed run was overwritten on the next start
Install
- Download Glint.exe and Glint-1.1-ps5.elf below.
- Upload the
.elfto your PS5:
/data/pldmgr/payloads/local/glint/Glint-1.1-ps5.elf - Load it from Payload Manager, then open
Glint.exe.
If the console says "refused to start video capture", just load Glint again. It often happens on the first try after a restart.
Only tested on firmware 13.60 so far. Full details in the changelog.

- Three latency modes: Lowest, Balanced (absorbs Wi-Fi jitter with a ~15–30 ms hold) and Smooth.
- Recording to MKV and PNG screenshots, a gallery with export, and a built-in viewer that plays recordings with sound and zooms screenshots.
- Dark and light theme, animated UI, auto-hiding controls, full screen.
- Browser dashboard served by the payload: live view, sound, screenshots, console recordings.
- Screenlink is now Glint: settings, recordings and the console's data folder carry over automatically.
Live streaming to Twitch, YouTube and TikTok is switched off in this release.
Warning
Stop capture (in Settings or the dashboard) can crash the console. Use it only when you have to.
