Modernize and port to 1.18.2
The ports the mod to 1.18.2 and cleans up a lot of the jank of the previous release.
Functional changes
Config and drop tables are now stored in the world config instead of globally. Drop tables are defined in TOML instead of JSON (and use built-in libraries instead of that terrible manual thing we were doing before).
About the version jump
The version jumped to 3.0.0. This is correcting a previous mistake. When I first ported this to a proper Forge Java mod, I also moved to semantic versioning, but started at 1.0.0. Before that, this mod was written as a C daemon, then was rewritten in Perl. Under semantic versioning, the C version should have been 1.x.x, and the Perl version should have been 2.x.x (See legacy history). Jumping to version 3.0.0 rights this wrong.
License change
As of 3.0.0, this mod is now licensed under AGPL-3.0 instead of MIT.
Copyright date
Also, that legacy doc says the C version was started in 2013, but the code comment says 2014. The date may have been updated when it was modified, but it wasn't under source control, so that little detail is lost to history I guess. 2014 is the earliest year I can confirm, so that's the copyright date I'm going with.
Drops 1.1.0
New stuff:
- I was going to add support for mod items but it worked already ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (use
modid:itemname) - Sub items are now supported (use
itemname:subid) - Added new config options for drop rates (so delete and regen your old one)
- Config is also reloaded when using /rd
Bug fixes:
- BUGFIX: fixed a crash when loading a drop table with an item from a mod that hadn't loaded yet.
- BUGFIX: fixed crash when trying to get a drop from an empty drop table
- BUGFIX: fixed old table being lost when there's an error loading a new table
- Warnings use logger now instead of stdout
Drops 1.0.0
This is the initial release of drops. It has feature parity with the original C and Perl implementations, as well as adding a command for reloading the drop table on the fly, and manually triggering the drop.
