Beta29 is here. Your dialogue choices are voiced with no DBVO required, the dashboard is now fully localized in nine more languages, improved locational awareness for NPC's, and the public launch of fateless.ai inference, providing hosted LLM, STT, TTS and bard songs.

Enjoy SkyrimNet with absolutely zero configuration required, with faster, higher quality, and more reliable responses through fateless.ai inference instead of using your own OpenRouter, OpenAI, Inworld, and SunoAPI subscriptions.

Your dialogue choices are voiced without DBVO @MinLL

Pick a line in the vanilla dialogue menu and your character says it in their voice before the NPC answers, with no other mod installed. We now handle this internally, so the old "delete the esp, leave the swf" setup steps are no longer needed.

  • It works with any dialogue menu mod, including Better Dialogue Controls.
  • Click again to skip your line. Closing the menu stops it.
  • The settings are on Voice › Game Dialogue: Voice My Dialogue Choices (on by default) and Voice Silent NPCs. Your current values carry over. If you never installed DBVO, picks are now voiced and the NPC waits for your line; turn the first setting off if you prefer the old behaviour.
  • Remove Dragonborn Voice Over 1.1.1 if you only installed it for SkyrimNet. If its DBVO.esp is active, SkyrimNet leaves the dialogue menu to it and says so at startup.
  • With Dragonborn Voice Over 2 or Dragonborn ReVoiced installed, SkyrimNet voices your choices instead of their voice files. Turn Voice My Dialogue Choices off to hear theirs.

Dashboard languages @MinLL

The dashboard and the in-game chat now come in French, German, Italian, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Spanish (Spain) and Portuguese (Brazil). The translations are machine-made.

  • Automatic follows your game's language (Skyrim.ini sLanguage). To keep English, pick English in Quick Toggles or Settings › Dashboard › Language.
  • A string with no translation yet shows in English.
  • Spot a bad translation? Report it with the language and the screen it is on.

Named places @Severause

Name spots inside a location (the bar, the kitchen, upstairs) on the new History › Places page. While someone stands in one, their location names it ("Breezehome, Kitchen"), so prompts, events and memories say which room they are in.

  • Type /mark the kitchen in the chat to name the spot you stand on, and /unmark to forget it.
  • The list renames, resizes, moves, switches off or deletes places.
  • Places apply to every playthrough, and a plugin can ship a pack of them. Edit a plugin's place and your copy wins.
  • locationAnalysis.namedPlaces turns room names in locations off; your places are kept.
  • If you keep your own copy of the event_history templates, copy the new location-change rule (location_building, _speakerLocations) into it, or a conversation between rooms marks every line as a move.

Dialogue @MinLL

  • Mute a virtual NPC without losing what it sees — Switch on Muted in its settings on the Characters page. It stops speaking but still perceives events, forms memories and keeps its diary, so it knows what happened when you unmute it.
  • Chat prefix keys work with Chinese and Japanese input — The chat box reads the full-width forms a Pinyin or Japanese IME types (! ‘ % # @ ~ and others) as prefix keys, so you no longer switch to English for a Think, Direct Input or Transform line.
  • More reliable Dialogue Actions — Several improvements to how consistently vanilla dialogue actions fire across models. A line the model names after its menu heading ("Follower", "Other") now fires instead of being dropped, and a vanilla exchange that handles its own gold is no longer paired with an Economy action, which could charge or reward you twice.

Speech & Audio @MinLL

  • Pocket TTS streaming is off by default — New installs play a Pocket TTS line once it is fully made. Turn Stream Audio on under Voice & TTS › Pocket TTS › Advanced.
  • Name Hints off by default for local Whisper — With the names sent, local Whisper could turn a whole message into a stray word such as "3.". It has its own toggle on the Speech-to-Text page. External Whisper and Fateless stay on.
  • Bulk voice cloning from the dashboard only — Starting or cancelling a bulk clone now needs SkyrimNet's dashboard, in game or in a browser on the same PC.

Dashboard & Plugins @zevck

  • AI Assistant lists only general agents — Tools › AI Assistant lists only the agents meant to run from it. The agent picker appears only when there is more than one.
  • Home's load-order notice names its plugins — Load Order Matches lists the plugins it recommends, so you can untick any before installing, and names one installed but switched off.
  • Dashboard polish — Layout and wording passes over the setup tutorial, AI › Providers, AI › Models, Text-to-Speech, Request Recording and Settings. Character override dates read correctly, and an empty override can be deleted.
  • Presets carry the rotation order — Model presets now save and apply Sequential or Random, set in each task card's header on AI › Models. A preset that names none applies as Sequential.

Base Content @MinLL

  • Vanilla NPCs keep one history across record swaps — Astrid, Cicero, Erik, Felldir, Galmar, Gormlaith, Hakon, Kodlak, Sam Guevenne, Sinding and Ulfric each keep their memories when a quest or scene swaps their record, with no separate plugin.

For Mod Authors @MinLL

  • Request a character profile update (PublicAPI v14) — A DLL can queue a dynamic bio update for an actor, with optional instructions and a limit on which bio blocks may change.
  • Named places from mods — A hotkey or MCM can use SkyrimNetApi.MarkPlace, GetPlaceId and GetPlaceName. A DLL can send its own with PublicAddPlace / PublicSyncPlaces (PublicAPI v13) after every load.
  • Player voice functions — TriggerPlayerTTS, IsPlayerTTSFinished, PrepareNPCDialogue and IsNPCDialogueReady remain in SkyrimNetApi for mods that voice the player themselves.

Bug Fixes

Actions and replies

  • Actions that target an actor — Fixed an issue that could stop them working on some mod lists. @MinLL
  • Actions followed by a thought — An action followed by text, such as an internal thought, keeps its target and arguments; one whose arguments can't be read is skipped. @MinLL
  • One action per reply — NPCs are now told plainly that only their first action runs, so they choose the one they mean. @MinLL
  • Model replies with a trailing comma — A diary entry, bio update, memory, profile, action or tool call whose JSON ended with a stray comma was lost. Those replies now parse. @MinLL

Lipsync and the Universal Translator

  • Japanese lipsync follows Japanese readings — NPCs mouth the Japanese reading of kanji, not a Chinese one. This needs Windows' Japanese input support. Symbols and emoji no longer move the lips in any language, and a laugh such as "ehehe" is mouthed as written. @Dekana
  • Lipsync no longer mouths audio tags — Tags such as [excited] or [sighs] are performed by the voice but no longer animated as words. @MinLL
  • No silent mouth movement after a translated scene line — When a translated line came out shorter, the mouth could keep moving after the voice stopped, for 10 seconds or more with Better Facial Animations. @MinLL
  • Translated scene lines no longer move the mouth before the voice — An NPC's first line in a scene no longer mouths the original while the translation is prepared. @MinLL
  • Translated NPCs speak with "Voice silent NPCs" off — The rule used to mute the vanilla voice with nothing to replace it. @MinLL

Voice and bards

  • Voice languages reach Inworld and Zonos in their own codes — A language set as ja, ja-JP or Japanese now reaches each engine in the form it expects. @Dekana
  • Bulk cloning starts on your voice engine — The dialog preselects the engine you use, or nothing if it can't bulk clone, instead of always ElevenLabs. @MinLL
  • Bard songs no longer vanish — Loading a different playthrough deleted songs your other saves had composed. Those songs now stay. @MinLL
  • Bard song requests — A request that timed out or lost its connection now tries your backup music provider, a cancelled one skips it, and songs from providers that report no length pace their lyrics properly. @MinLL
  • Bard agrees to a song but never performs — Asking a bard for a song now starts the performance. @SirJefferE

Dashboard

  • Stuck on an error screen — The red error screen no longer stays up for the whole session. Its Reload button or F5 reloads the dashboard to Home. @zevck
  • Empty bio blocks can be edited — Empty blocks in a bio's block view had nothing to click. They now show "Click to write", and the pencil on every block opens it. @MinLL
