Getting Started Tunnel

If you already have a way to allow Tiltify to reach your local computer, feel free to skip this section.

For everyone else, here is how to set up ngrok to tunnel Tiltify webhooks to your local computer.

Step 1: Setup an ngrok account and free domain

1. Go to https://dashboard.ngrok.com and create a free account.
2. Then head to the Domains tab in the dashboard.
3. Follow the prompts to get a free domain claimed. (You'll need this later!)

Step 2: Download and install ngrok agent

1. Head to the Setup & Installation tab in the dashboard.
2. Follow the instructions to download and install ngrok for your OS.
3. Once installed, continue following the instructions to add your authtoken.

Step 3: Start an HTTP tunnel

(This is the only step you'll need to do each time, including it here for reference!)

1. Open a terminal/command prompt.
2. Run the following command, replacing <your-domain> with the domain you claimed in Step 1:

ngrok http 8001 --url <your-domain>

3. The terminal window should change to a small dashboard showing the tunnel status. Leave this open while streaming!
4. When you're done, you can press CTRL + C to stop the tunnel.
