macOS installation

  1. Open the DMG
  2. Drag Dartform to Applications
  3. Open Terminal and run:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Dartform.app
  1. Open Dartform normally

Dartform is currently distributed unsigned outside the Mac App Store.
The Terminal command above removes the macOS quarantine flag — this is a standard step for developer tools distributed this way.

Linux installation

  1. Download dartform-linux-x86_64.AppImage
  2. Make it executable and run it:
chmod +x dartform-linux-x86_64.AppImage
./dartform-linux-x86_64.AppImage

A single portable executable — no installation, no root required. Requires Docker Engine (not Docker Desktop) to be installed separately for the Postgres-backed project features.

  • Migrated Dartform's backend to new, self-hosted infrastructure for improved reliability.

Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where the sign-in link could fail to open Dartform from some email providers.
  • Fixed a bug where restarting Dartform after signing in could unexpectedly sign you back out.

System requirements

  • macOS: 13.0 Ventura or later, Apple Silicon or Intel
  • Linux: x86_64, a systemd-based distro (Docker start/stop guidance assumes systemctl)

Upgrading

macOS: download the new DMG and replace the existing app in your Applications folder. Your projects and sign-in session are preserved.
Linux: replace the old .AppImage file with the new one. Your projects and sign-in session are preserved.
