Modkeel CLI 0.1.13
Fixed:
- Fork searches wait for GitHub's search limit (30 searches a minute) to reset when it is less
than a minute and a half away, instead of skipping the search. Several mods searched at once
with one token used to lose most of their fork searches ("GitHub refused 6 of the searches").
Fixes
- wait out GitHub's search limit; release 0.1.13
Modkeel CLI 0.1.12
New:
- Community ports kept in forks are found even when nothing in the fork's name or description
mentions the version. Modkeel now reads the mod's own fork list and the branches of the forks
changed in the last year: EMI for 26.3 was a26.3branch in two of its 164 forks, which the
old search never returned. - Mods with short names (EMI, JEI, REI) are matched on CurseForge when both sites link the same
source repository; before, their CurseForge builds were always taken for another mod.
Features
- lab: scan mod JARs before every lab client and server start
Fixes
- find forks by listing them, and short-named mods on CurseForge
Modkeel CLI 0.1.11
New for the desktop app's engine (modkeel serve --stdio):
- Search Modrinth for a mod and add it straight into a launcher instance, with undo. Each add is
recorded (history), skips what the instance already has, and undo puts back what it replaced. - Instances come with their launcher's icon (Prism, PolyMC, Modrinth App, CurseForge,
ATLauncher, FTB App, the official launcher). - Each instance can say which of its mods have no build for its own Minecraft version and loader,
judged by the files' hashes on Modrinth. - Instances from PolyMC, ATLauncher, GDLauncher, FTB App, the official launcher and SKlauncher
are found too.
Features
- search the catalog and add a mod into an instance with undo
- read PolyMC, ATLauncher, GDLauncher (legacy and Carbon) and FTB App instances
- read launcher_profiles.json profiles (official launcher, SKlauncher)
Modkeel CLI 0.1.10
Fixed:
- Building a mod from the desktop app no longer hangs. Gradle was waiting on the app's
connection to the engine; a build that takes a minute in the terminal never finished in the
app. - A Gradle build that runs past its time limit now stops, with everything it started, instead of
waiting forever (Windows).
Fixes
- Gradle no longer hangs under the app
Modkeel CLI 0.1.9
New:
- Building from a GitHub link no longer needs git. When git is not installed, Modkeel downloads
the branch as GitHub's zip (the same files, without history) and builds it. Most players'
PCs have no git, so before thismodkeel get https://github.com/...failed for them at the
first step.
Fixes
- build a branch without git, from GitHub's zip
Modkeel CLI 0.1.8
New:
modkeel gettakes a GitHub link and builds that repository's branch, no token needed:
modkeel get https://github.com/MineInAbyss/voxy/tree/mc_26_3 -m 26.3 -l fabric.
Useful when a community port exists but nobody publishes its JAR.- Builds run on the Java their Minecraft version needs (26.x: Java 25, 1.20.5+: 21, 1.18+: 17).
Modkeel uses an installed JDK of that version, or downloads Eclipse Temurin once into its
own folder (checksum verified). Before, every 26.x build failed on a machine with Java 21. - Building a fork no longer asks for the loader version (
-lv).
Features
- get builds a GitHub link's branch; Gradle runs on the target's Java
- CurseForge as a source through the Worker, off until the key exists
Modkeel CLI 0.1.7
Fixes:
- Busy Modrinth no longer reads as "not on Modrinth". When Modrinth's rate limit is reached
(300 requests a minute per IP: a large pack, or several runs behind one network), Modkeel
now waits for the window to reopen (at most a minute) and asks again. modkeel loginshows how long the code stays valid rounded up (15 minutes, not 14).
Fixes
- a 429 with a reset of 0 still waits a second before retrying
- wait out Modrinth's rate limit instead of reading a 429 as a miss
- show the sign-in code's minutes rounded up; app 0.0.2
Modkeel CLI 0.1.6
New: sign in with GitHub instead of making a token by hand.
modkeel login
Modkeel shows a code and opens github.com/login/device; enter it there and approve. Searching
community forks then runs under your own GitHub limit (5,000 requests/hour instead of 60).
The sign-in asks for no permissions: it reads public data only. The token is saved in
~/.modkeel/config.toml; modkeel token --clear removes it, and you can revoke it on GitHub
under Settings > Applications. When a run needs GitHub and you are not signed in, type
login at the token prompt to do the same. A token of your own (modkeel token --set) still
works.
Features
- sign in with GitHub (device flow) instead of a hand-made token
Modkeel CLI 0.1.5
New: when the pack you move is a Prism Launcher instance, modkeel move also adds the moved
pack to Prism as a new instance next to it, " ()", ready to play.
modkeel move "All the Mods 10" -m 1.21.10
It gets the loader at a version made for the new Minecraft (the one Prism itself offers), the
moved mods, your instance's settings, options.txt, config/, resource and shader packs.
Your worlds are not copied: opening a world on a new version upgrades it for good, so copy one
yourself from a backup. Your old instance is never changed, and --no-new-instance keeps the
previous behaviour (the pack only in out/mc-<version>/).
Features
- lab: check the new instances in the real Prism Launcher; release 0.1.5
- move adds the moved pack to Prism as a new instance beside the old one
Modkeel CLI 0.1.4
New: modkeel instances lists the Minecraft instances on your machine (Prism Launcher,
Modrinth App, CurseForge, the official launcher's .minecraft) with their version, loader and
mod count, and modkeel move takes an instance by its name.
modkeel instances
modkeel move "All the Mods 10" -m 1.21.10
move also identifies more of your mods: for a JAR Modrinth does not know by its hash, it
reads what your launcher recorded when it installed it (Prism's mods/.index, CurseForge's
minecraftinstance.json, packwiz). A mod that only exists on CurseForge is now reported as
such instead of "unknown". Your launchers' files are only read, never written.
Features
- move reads the launchers' install records; release 0.1.4
- launcher instances (modkeel instances; move takes an instance; the app's picker)
