• Bring it near, it's on your Mac: the phone appears when it's beside your Mac and tucks away when you leave. The phone decides "near" or "away" itself from a private, signed Bluetooth signal and tells the Mac over the encrypted link.
• Notifications in the notch: reply, dismiss, or click one to open that chat on the phone inside the phone window.
• Calls in the notch: answer or decline from the Mac.
• Universal clipboard both ways. Passwords are never synced.
• Dock mode (⌘D): a full Android desktop in a resizable Mac window.
• Drag and drop files onto the phone window.
• Battery and signal in the menu, plus Find My Phone.
• A cleaner phone window with a hover toolbar, and a status island at the notch.

• Replayed Bluetooth signals can't open the phone window.
• Only the real dialer can show calls.

A security hardening release, plus a bolder Android icon.

Security

• Shares ask before sending. Another app can no longer silently push links or files to your Mac, and Hop refuses to send its own private files.
• Received files on the Mac are quarantined, so Gatekeeper checks anything runnable before it opens.
• OTP codes are marked concealed on the Mac clipboard, so clipboard managers don't keep them.
• Mac: limits unauthenticated connections, sets a 10-second handshake deadline, and refuses overlapping or disk-filling transfers.
• Phone: times out stalled connections and falls back to the paired Mac's address if a look-alike service on the network doesn't answer.
• The pairing key is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. Key creation now fails safely if secure randomness isn't available.

Installing on Android

Play Protect warns about apps from outside the Play Store that read SMS. Tap More details → Install anyway, or install over USB with adb install Hop-android.apk. See the README.
