Reccoon 1.0.0

The first public release of Reccoon: a screen recorder for Windows that does its work on the GPU and stays out of your game's way.

What's in it

• Recording of a monitor, a region or one window at 720p to 4K, 30, 60 or 120 fps (whatever your monitor shows), with the GPU's hardware encoder (HEVC, H.264, or AV1 on the newest cards). Recording 1080p60 costs well under 1 % CPU.
• Two versions in one app: Low-end PC keeps everything as light as possible; High-end PC adds a blurred-wallpaper look and animations. Switch on the About page.
• Several sound devices at once, or only chosen apps; up to two microphones with push-to-talk on any keys and mouse buttons, noise suppression and a noise gate; editing tracks for video editors.
• Instant replay (the last 30 s to 5 min), kept in memory or, to save RAM, on disk; markers as chapters, pause, crash-safe files.
• Captures: every video Reccoon saved, by month, with a picture of each and buttons to play, trim or compress, show in folder or delete (to the Recycle Bin).
• A 10-second test that picks the best quality for your PC, a doctor that explains problems in plain words, and adaptive mode that eases off when a game needs the whole GPU.
• Trim (instant, lossless) and Compress for Discord (10, 50 or 500 MB, lands within a few percent of the size), with Copy to paste the file straight into Discord.
• Tray app with shortcuts that work in games, small on-screen messages, start with Windows.

• Reccoon-1.0.0-setup.exe: installs for your user, no admin needed.
• Reccoon-1.0.0-portable.zip: unzip and run reccoon.exe.

Needs Windows 10 2004 or newer (64-bit) and a graphics card with a hardware video encoder. The files aren't code-signed yet: if SmartScreen warns, click More info, then Run anyway. SHA256SUMS.txt lists the files' checksums.
