Vayun v1.0.9 — Forms with web links, a redesigned mind map and a first-run tour
Forms with web links, a redesigned mind map and a first-run tour
Released 2026-11-03.
What is new
- Forms inside Vayun. Build a form (short and long answers, choice, checkboxes, dropdown, scale, date), fill it in, and watch the responses on a dashboard with charts, a month calendar and reminders. Export the answers to CSV.
- Share a form as a web link. Click Create web link on a form and anyone with the link fills it in on their phone or computer, with no account. Their answers come back to the same dashboard when you open Responses or press Sync responses. You can update the questions, stop taking answers or remove the link at any time. It is built to stay inside Firebase's free plan: nothing runs in the background, each form is capped at 5,000 answers and 1,000 a day, and visitors are rate limited. One-time setup: docs/forms-setup.md.
- Bring in Google Forms. Import a Google Form's response export (.xlsx or .csv) and Vayun turns it into a task board and dashboard. Importing a newer export updates the same entries instead of adding duplicates.
- A redesigned mind map and a first-run tour that shows new people around.
- Sidebar: pages with subpages fold away, databases start folded, and delete is now an icon.
- Assistant: a model picker and a redesigned Assistant panel.

Vayun v1.0.8 — Two new themes, a clearer Team tab and smoother motion
Two new themes, a clearer Team tab and smoother motion
Released 2026-11-02.
What is new
- Two new themes: Aurum and Ink. Aurum is warm black with a champagne-gold accent. Ink is matte black with a faint paper grain, serif numerals and one orange signal color. Pick either in Settings, Appearance, next to Vayun.
- A clearer Team tab. One header with the team name, your role and the open and overdue counts. A short filter strip (My tasks or Everyone, search, and the Overdue, Must do and Hide done chips) replaces eight controls; sorting and grouping live behind Sort & group. Each task is a roomy card with the full title, and a round button changes its status in one tap (to do, doing, done). The People panel opens right under the header.
- Home in the Ink theme shows the day as a large serif number with the week laid out beneath it, and greets you by name.
- Smoother, calmer motion. The search palette, the quick-search window and the slash menu now open instantly, since people use them all day. Buttons give a stronger press and ease back on release, the page menu grows from its own button, and every dialog fades without movement when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Appearance now says Vayun instead of Folio, and the sample team theme only shows when it is in use.
- Under the hood: the Assistant gained a server mode for phones and the web (a pool of keys, saved keys per person and a daily limit). The desktop Assistant still uses your own NVIDIA key, exactly as before.

Vayun v1.0.7 — Home screen, team roles and reminders
Home screen, team roles and reminders
Released 2026-10-28.
What is new
- Home: a landing screen that opens first, every time Vayun opens. A dark Start here card leads with the one thing to do first, with counts beside it, and a small reminder popup appears when a must-do or overdue task is waiting (Open task or Snooze 1 hour). It follows whichever theme you pick. It shows what needs you today: Must do tasks, Overdue work, what is due today and tomorrow, Important (high-priority) work, today's calendar (your workspace, Google Calendar and the team), plus your own reminders and any pages you pin (••• → Pin to Home). Everything on it can be switched on or off with Customize. Tasks from your own Tasks databases show up there too.
- Teams, with roles. Every team has admins, leads and members. Admins can do everything (roles, people, invite code, all tasks); leads give tasks and team events and edit the ones they made; members see the team's work and change the status of their own tasks. The person who creates a team is its owner: always an admin, never removed. Each person sees their own tasks (or the whole team's), sorted by due date, priority or status and grouped by person or status.
- Must do. An admin or lead can flag a task Must do: it stays at the top of that person's Home screen every day until they finish it. Admins and leads also see overdue and must-do work that is stuck for other people.
- Team events from admins and leads show on everyone's Calendar page next to their private Google events. Team data lives in Cloud Firestore on the free plan; personal pages stay on your PC. One-time setup: docs/team-setup.md. Tried for real on the live Firebase project (sign-in, team, task, status change, team event).
- The team security rules are tested against Google's Firestore emulator (
npm run test:rules): the shared checks plus 12 attack tests, including a lead reaching above their level, a member promoting themselves and anyone touching the owner. - Sign-in now also keeps Firebase's long-lived refresh token (encrypted on your PC), which teams need. People who were already signed in are asked to sign in once more on the Team page.
- Signing out removes the local copy of your team data, like it already did for the Google Calendar link.
