Novedades

Changes
- SGSR on SteamOS: QAM Sharp is promoted from FSR
2to SGSR5when the active Gamescope supports it. Checks run every ~750 ms plus X11 response time; this is not an atomic Gamescope modification. - Detection fixed: restricted
/proc/PID/exeaccess is handled using the process's validated observed absolute executable, without substituting PATH or granting root to the plugin. - QAM and controls: preserve the selected scaler on modern SteamOS; NIS/FSR overrides are exclusive and the UI shows SGSR status.
- Compatibility preserved: twelve Ubuntu/UGM methods, legacy SteamOS, application-HDR policy and 0–5 sharpening remain unchanged.
To use SGSR, leave Use NIS and Use FSR off and choose Sharp in Steam's QAM. HDR input retains Gamescope's FSR fallback; HDR output with an SDR game does not itself hide FSR.
Installation
Download the ZIP and .sha256 file into the same directory:
sha256sum -c sharp-filter-selector-v1.2.0.zip.sha256
unzip sharp-filter-selector-v1.2.0.zip
cd sharp-filter-selector
./install.shReload the plugin through Decky or restart Steam/Gaming Mode to load it. Existing selections are retained. The ZIP is for installation; complete sources and tests remain in the repository.
Validation and organization
- 48 tests passed: 41 Python and 7 frontend tests, including 90 filter/scaler/override cases. Types, build and installer checks also pass.
- The maintainer confirmed operation on SteamOS 3.9.5 / Gamescope 3.16.30.1 on 2026-10-24. This is not an independent GPU trace or a complete physical HDR matrix.
- Repository reorganized: concise English/Spanish READMEs, two technical guides and plugin-focused documentation. The ZIP is simplified, without store-submission or administrative documents.
- Same version and runtime: this cleanup changes documentation/packaging, not the validated plugin. The original
v1.2.0tag remains unchanged; the documentation package is generated from the cleanup commit.

Sharp Filter Selector 1.1.0
Sharp Filter Selector 1.1.0
This release fixes HDR-aware control visibility without changing Gamescope's filter, scaler or sharpening behavior.
What changed
- Display HDR no longer hides FSR. An SDR game on an HDR output keeps both explicit FSR and NIS controls available.
- FSR visibility now follows fresh, unambiguous application feedback from
GAMESCOPE_COLOR_APP_WANTS_HDR_FEEDBACK. - Missing, invalid or conflicting application feedback fails open: both controls remain available on SGSR-capable Gamescope builds.
- A failed frontend refresh clears stale HDR gating so a previous HDR game cannot hide FSR for the next game.
- NIS availability, SGSR/FSR/NIS selectors, the 0–5 sharpening mapping and QAM scaling ownership are unchanged.
Validation
- Physical Ubuntu 26.04 Gaming Mode test with Gamescope 3.16.30, NVIDIA RTX 2060, 4K HDR output and QAM transitions.
- Confirmed: SDR application input on an HDR output retains FSR and NIS; application HDR feedback—not display HDR mode—controls FSR visibility.
- Automated coverage for SDR, HDR, missing, invalid and conflicting feedback, stale-state transitions, both sharpening backends and invalid sharpness rejection.
- TypeScript type-check, Rollup build, Python syntax and 5/5 tests passed.
Installation
Download sharp-filter-selector-v1.1.0.zip, extract it and run:
cd sharp-filter-selector
./install.shThe accompanying .sha256 file verifies the archive. The plugin does not install or patch Gamescope.
Sharp Filter Selector 1.0.0
Sharp Filter Selector 1.0.0
This release packages the runtime validated on Ubuntu 26.04 Gaming Mode with
Gamescope 3.16.30, NVIDIA RTX 2060, multi-Xwayland, 4K and VRR.
Highlights
- Native SGSR detection from the Gamescope process that owns the active session.
- Explicit FSR and NIS overrides with shared 0–5 sharpening.
- Correct distinction between SDR SGSR, HDR-input FSR fallback and HDR output.
- QAM scaler/filter synchronization across Gamescope Xwayland roots.
- QAM scaling modes remain owned by Steam; filter selection no longer overwrites them.
- Portable installer and uninstaller included in the ZIP.
Installation
- Download and extract
sharp-filter-selector-v1.0.0.zip. - Enter the extracted
sharp-filter-selectordirectory. - Run
./install.sh. - Reload Decky Loader or restart Steam/Gaming Mode.

Sharp Filter Selector 0.3.4
Sharp Filter Selector 0.3.4
Validated release for Ubuntu and SteamOS with the modern Decky Loader API.
Highlights
- NIS switching is confirmed working on both Ubuntu and SteamOS / Steam Deck.
- SteamOS now discovers and targets Gamescope's multiple Xwayland roots instead of assuming a single display.
- SteamOS performs an explicit LINEAR → NIS transition before applying the final NIS state.
- Ubuntu/Linux keeps its isolated, validated compatibility path based on
GAMESCOPE_SHARP_FILTER. - Frontend migrated to Decky's supported public packages:
@decky/api,@decky/uiand@decky/rollup. - Keeps the plugin's own 0–5 NIS sharpness slider, mapped to Gamescope's full sharpening range.
- Adds Xwayland server/filter diagnostics and FSR feedback verification.
- Source frontend is now TypeScript/React with Rollup.
Packaging
The release keeps the exact runtime frontend and backend validated by the maintainer. Build checks compile the modern TypeScript frontend separately without replacing the tested runtime in the release archive.
The plugin does not replace or patch Gamescope.
Sharp Filter Selector 0.3.1
Sharp Filter Selector 0.3.1
SteamOS/Game Mode compatibility test release.
Fixes
- Keeps NIS enforced if Steam/QAM re-applies FSR after the plugin changes the scaler.
- Applies both modern and legacy Gamescope selectors plus AUTO scaler state.
- Uses Gamescope's FSR feedback property to detect an active FSR override.
- Adds in-plugin verification so the Quick Access Menu reports whether NIS was actually confirmed.
- Keeps the existing 0-5 sharpness control unchanged.
Test request
On Steam Deck / SteamOS, enable scaling below native resolution, turn on Use NIS, and watch both MangoHud and the status line in Sharp Filter Selector.
The desired result is:
- MangoHud reports NIS.
- The plugin reports NIS verified active.
If SteamOS still wins the filter state, the plugin should instead report that SteamOS is still forcing FSR while automatic retry remains active.
Sharp Filter Selector 0.3.0
Sharp Filter Selector 0.3.0
First public release of Sharp Filter Selector for Decky Loader.
Features
- Switch Gamescope scaling between FSR and NIS from the Quick Access Menu.
- Adjust NIS sharpness on a simple 0–5 scale.
- Detect active Gamescope/Xwayland sessions automatically.
- Preserve the selected filter and sharpness between Decky sessions.
- Uses Gamescope properties directly; it does not replace or patch Gamescope.
- Portable across compatible Decky/Gamescope Linux environments.
Installation
Download sharp-filter-selector-v0.3.0.zip from the assets below and install it through Decky Loader's plugin/developer installation flow.
