Highlights

  • Adds the tiny standalone uget TFTP GET helper for large payloads.
  • Adds the uart-push tftp workflow for staging uget over UART and downloading payloads over UDP with size and CRC32 verification.
  • Adds architecture-aware helper and payload argument handling, atomic installation, retries, and cleanup.
  • Documents the companion utftp UDP server workflow.

Breaking change

The CLI now requires an explicit direct or tftp subcommand. The previous root-level invocation syntax and --exec-args flag are removed.

Assets

Go binaries are provided for Linux, macOS, and Windows. The included static uget binary is x86_64; build uget from bootstrap/ for the target router architecture.

What's New

  • ANSI escape code support: Prompt detection now strips ANSI sequences, fixing routers with colored prompts (e.g., MR80x)
  • Removed > from default prompts: Prevents silent transfer corruption from false-matching shell continuation prompts
  • Smaller default hex chunks: Reduced from 128 to 48 bytes to fit within 256-char shell line buffers common on embedded devices
  • Shell recovery on timeout: Sends Ctrl+C on command failure to recover the shell from broken state instead of leaving it stuck
