Tunniq 2.0.2 (Beta)
Tunniq 2.0.2 (Beta)
This release adds an optional AI assistant, background file transfers and a new two-pane file manager. It's marked beta while the new features get real-world use. Everything that worked in 2.0.1 works the same way.
New
- AI side chat: ask about errors, commands or config right next to your terminal. Bring your own key for Claude, Gemini, or any OpenAI-compatible service (OpenAI, OpenRouter, a local Ollama). It's off until you add a key.
- AI Read Files mode: allow a server folder, tick the files the AI may read, and review its suggested edits as a diff. Nothing is written until you click Replace all, the originals are backed up, and Undo restores them.
- Drag-and-drop uploads: drop files or whole folders onto the SFTP panel. The new Transfers tray shows progress, speed and time left, and uploads keep running after you close the panel.
- Two-pane Files view: your computer on one side, the server on the other. Drag between them to upload or download.
- Know who you are on the server: the Files view shows your user, a ROOT badge when you're root, your sudo status, and whether you can write in the current folder before you try.
- Android: the AI chat, plus Upload many for background multi-file uploads with progress.
Privacy
No telemetry, same as always. AI requests go straight from your device to the provider you pick, using your own key, which is stored encrypted on your device. The AI only sees terminal output when you tick the box, and only the files you select in folders you allow.

Tunniq_v.2.0.1
🚀 Tunniq v2.0.1 (CHECK BETA RELEASE)
A big release for the terminal itself — split panes, broadcast typing, a proper
light theme, and a long list of fixes to copy/paste and rendering.
✨ New — Split Terminals
- Split any terminal into 2 or 4 panes and work across servers side by side.
- Layout picker (1 / 2 / 4) lives in the terminal toolbar.
- Right-click any tab → Duplicate, Duplicate in 2 panes, or Duplicate in 4 panes
to open extra shells on the same server instantly. - A split shows as a single merged bar holding every session in it, so your
tab bar stays clean. New connections open in their own bar and never
intrude on an existing split. - Empty panes let you pick any already-running session to display, or start a
brand new connection right there. - Click a pane to focus it, or cycle panes with
Ctrl+Shift+]/Ctrl+Shift+[. - Opening SFTP / Stats / Snote / Port Forwarding temporarily expands the focused
pane to full size, so panels are never squeezed into a quarter of the screen.
✨ New — Broadcast Mode
- Press
Ctrl+Shift+B(or the Broadcast button) and everything you type is
sent to every connected session at once. - A clear banner stays on screen the whole time it's active, so you always know.
- Combine it with a 4-pane split to run the same command on four servers at once.
✨ New — Light Theme for the Terminal
- Added a proper light terminal theme, easy on the eyes in bright rooms.
- Switching the app to Light mode now switches the terminal with it automatically,
and switching back restores whichever dark theme you were using before.
✨ Improved — Search Everywhere
- The big, easy-to-use search bar from the Servers page is now on Keys,
Passwords, Snippets and Port Forwarding too. - Port Forwarding keeps its server dropdown right in the bar, and you can now
search saved rules by type, host or port.
✅ Fixes
Terminal
- Pasting from the Windows clipboard now works. Clipboard reads were going
through a browser API that silently returns nothing inside the app. - Long, multi-line pastes are no longer mangled. Pasted text is now sent using
bracketed paste, so the shell stops re-indenting and re-wrapping it. - Fixed text overlapping itself / writing over the same line. The remote
terminal was being left at its default 80x24 size while the window rendered
wider, because size updates sent during connection were dropped. They're now
applied as soon as the session opens. - Switching terminal themes no longer rebuilds the terminal and wipes your scrollback.
- The view no longer jumps to the bottom while you're scrolled up reading output.
Settings & Shortcuts
- Select to Copy now works right after opening the app — previously you had to
toggle it off and on again every launch. - Light mode is remembered properly and restored on restart.
- Keyboard shortcuts are no longer swallowed app-wide. Copy/paste shortcuts also
work while the Stats panel is open. Move Focus Next/Move Focus Previousdo something now (they cycle split panes).Ctrl+Nopens the New Connection dialog.
Connections
- Right-click → Edit and Duplicate on a tab now work. They were failing silently.
- Duplicating a Serial session correctly reconnects over Serial instead of SSH.
- The Port Forwarding server dropdown now selects a server properly when your host
list loads. - Light mode no longer breaks the styling of the terminal search bar and the
connecting / error overlays.

🚀 Tunniq v1.1.0 Update
✅ Issues Fixed
(iOS & Updated .dmg will also be available soon)
- Fixed snippet execution — snippets can now successfully run the final command as expected.
- Terminal data will no longer be cleared when switching between tabs.
- Terminal search fix — Search input now works correctly while
nano/vimor other full-screen terminal apps are running. Previously, focus was stolen back to the terminal, making search unusable. - Long session stability improvements — Terminal scrollback increased from 10,000 to 50,000 lines. Added auto-scroll on new output and periodic viewport refresh to prevent rendering glitches during extended sessions.
✨ New Feature Added — Profiles
- Introduced Profiles to improve team collaboration.
- Teams can now create separate workspaces and securely share Git folders with team members.
- Your personal data stays completely separate from team projects.
✨ New Feature Added — Snote (Server Notes)
- Introducing Snote — save notes per server directly from the terminal.
- Each server gets its own dedicated notes, making it easy to track ports, configs, commands, reminders, and machine-specific details.
- Notes are searchable, editable, and stored securely inside your encrypted vault.
- Access Snote directly from the terminal header bar — right next to Snippets.
🤖 Android Support Now Open (APK Testing)
- Android support is now available for early testing!
- The APK build has been created and is ready to try.
- Install it, test it on your devices, and share feedback to help improve the mobile experience.
