A fix for the iCal feed, broken in 1.8.0. Update if you share your OpenFamily calendar with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.

The iCal feed works again

In 1.8.0, the address of the family calendar feed (/api/calendar/<token>/openfamily.ics) answered "401 Unauthorized". The calendars that subscribe to it read it without signing in, so they stopped receiving OpenFamily's appointments.

The cause was the new "Other calendars" feature, whose routes share the same path and asked for a login on every request under it, the feed included. Each of those routes now checks the login itself, and the public feed answers again with the calendar. Your feed address does not change: calendars that were subscribed pick it up again at their next refresh, which can take a few hours on Google Calendar.

The automated Docker test now reads the feed without a session, so this cannot come back unnoticed.

Android APK

The APK build of 1.8.0 failed on GitHub's side (the Android SDK setup asked for a package that no longer exists) and was attached to the release by hand. The workflow is fixed: 1.8.1 builds its APK normally.

Upgrading

Nothing else changes since 1.8.0: no new setting and no migration. If you are coming from 1.7.x, read the 1.8.0 notes, in particular the TZ setting.

Ready-made images: ghcr.io/nexaflowfrance/openfamily-server:1.8.1 and ghcr.io/nexaflowfrance/openfamily-client:1.8.1, for amd64 and arm64.
