Nova Tweaks v1.1.2

Choose a tag to compare

@NovaTweaksDev NovaTweaksDev released this 24 Oct 19:02

Nova Tweaks 1.1.2 for Windows x64

Fixed

  • Keep basic storage information available when optional Windows overview counters time out, using an independent volume read and the existing refresh cache.
  • Avoid slow managed process CPU-time reads in Overview and isolate optional hardware queries from live counters. Preserve unknown values for protected processes and prevent false activity across reused process IDs or cached readings.
  • Align the Overview footer's refresh interval, settings link and last-updated timestamp.

Added

  • Save a selectable monitoring refresh interval from one to ten seconds, with a direct link from the Overview footer to the monitoring settings.

Downloads

  • Regular Windows desktop: NovaTweaks-Setup-1.1.2-x64.exe
  • Microsoft Store update package: NovaTweaks-store-Setup-1.1.2-x64.exe
  • checksums.txt: SHA-256 hashes of the final signed installers
  • release-verification.zip: signature, installer-payload, provenance and update-identity reports

Validation

Lint and interface type checks passed. Normal and Store test suites each passed 550 tests with 4 optional tests skipped. Both final packages passed isolated application startup, source/profile/version checks, bundled resource integrity, installer payload byte comparison and final checksum validation. The Store payload contains 256 audited PE files, all with valid signatures and zero failures; the Store installer is signed and timestamped. Stable retains its reviewed upstream signature exceptions.

Read-only Windows probes returned working process, network and volume data without the previous live-counter timeout: approximately 2 seconds for initial hardware discovery and 0.5 seconds for subsequent samples on the development PC. These timings are machine-specific. Automated package checks do not establish every hardware/driver combination, prove that Windows counters can never fail, or execute a Store update installation. Protected process readings remain unavailable when Windows denies access; unsupported measurements are not invented. The footer layout has passed the renderer build but has not been manually inspected in the final installed package.

Microsoft Store update

Both offline installers support silent per-user installation with /S /currentuser. Store retains the product and installer identity of 1.0.5, 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 and excludes the same three restricted boot/security tweaks. Submit the new versioned Store installer URL as an update to the existing Partner Center product. Publishing this GitHub release does not submit the Store update. Previously published installers and their URLs remain unchanged.

@NovaTweaksDev NovaTweaksDev released this 24 Oct 12:02

Nova Tweaks 1.1.1 for Windows x64

Fixed

  • Wait for replaced display recovery helpers to stop before switching profiles or clearing a session.
  • Keep the recovery command pipe open until disarm completes, and start cleanup before closing the main window so exiting Nova retains the current resolution.

Diagnostics and validation

  • Record requested and captured display values and recovery helper events without additional polling or display changes.
  • The maintainer confirmed manual testing of the revised switching and shutdown flow. The cause of the previously reported brief color artifact has not been established.

Downloads

  • Regular Windows desktop: NovaTweaks-Setup-1.1.1-x64.exe
  • Microsoft Store update package: NovaTweaks-store-Setup-1.1.1-x64.exe
  • checksums.txt: SHA-256 hashes of the final signed installers
  • release-verification.zip: signature, installer-payload, provenance and update-identity reports

Validation

Lint and interface type checks passed. Normal and Store test suites each passed 540 tests with 4 optional tests skipped. Both final packages passed isolated application startup, source/profile/version checks, bundled resource integrity, installer payload byte comparison and final checksum validation. The Store payload contains 256 audited PE files, all with valid signatures and zero failures; the Store installer is signed and timestamped. Stable retains its reviewed upstream signature exceptions.

The maintainer confirmed extensive manual testing of the updated application switching/shutdown flow. The automated package checks do not establish every hardware/driver combination or execute a Store update installation. The previously observed brief color artifact is not claimed as fixed.

Microsoft Store update

Both offline installers support silent per-user installation with /S /currentuser. Store retains the product and installer identity of 1.0.5 and 1.1.0 and excludes the same three restricted boot/security tweaks. Submit the new versioned Store installer URL as an update to the existing Partner Center product. Publishing this GitHub release does not submit the Store update. Previously published installers and their URLs remain unchanged.

Nova Tweaks v1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@NovaTweaksDev NovaTweaksDev released this 24 Oct 10:18

Nova Tweaks 1.1.0 for Windows x64

Changed

  • Refined the Overview, tweak cards, settings, and Game Mode layout and feedback.
  • Improved monitoring history, unavailable metric handling, and shutdown cleanup.
  • Persist installed-app details across restarts, refresh changed entries selectively, and retain visible sizes and icons during background checks. Recheck sizes weekly or with Reload.
  • Added Game Mode background-app controls and session statistics.
  • Reuse the process detection worker and tolerate temporary process visibility gaps when restoring display profiles.
  • Refined automation status controls and added a subtle ember background to the optional support button, respecting reduced motion.
  • Improved tweak-state reporting and automation handling of administrator approval cancellation.
  • Integrated the signed Windows release pipeline for regular and Microsoft Store installers.
  • Store builds retain the existing product identity and exclude the three previously restricted boot/security tweaks.

Validation limits

  • Hardware-specific sensor readings, display switching, and real system changes require testing on target hardware.
  • Microsoft Store publication requires an update submission using the new versioned installer URL in Partner Center.

Downloads

  • Regular Windows desktop: NovaTweaks-Setup-1.1.0-x64.exe
  • Microsoft Store update package: NovaTweaks-store-Setup-1.1.0-x64.exe

Both are offline installers and support silent per-user installation with /S /currentuser. The Store package retains the product name, app ID, NSIS GUID, executable name, per-user scope and user-data location of Store 1.0.5. It excludes disable_nx_dep, ignore_all_boot_failures and disable_hyper_v_hypervisor.

Verification

  • Lint and interface type checks passed. Normal and Store test suites each passed 532 tests with 4 optional tests skipped; 16 focused packaging/signing tests also passed.
  • Both final packages passed isolated application startup, source/profile/version and resource-integrity checks, and byte comparison between extracted installer content and the validated unpacked application.
  • Installer, application and Nova helpers have valid Authenticode signatures and timestamps. All 256 audited Store payload PE files are signed with no signature failures. Existing upstream signatures are preserved; reviewed originally unsigned upstream files receive Nova distributor signatures. See the accompanying reports.
  • The regular build retains its reviewed, hash-pinned unsigned upstream exceptions; use the Store installer for Partner Center.
  • The maintainer reported manual testing. No additional VM installation/1.0.5-to-1.1.0 update test was run for these final installer bytes, as requested. Hardware-specific sensors, display behavior and real system changes are not established by automated package checks.

Microsoft Store publication requires an update submission for the existing product in Partner Center using the new versioned Store installer URL. Publishing this GitHub release does not submit that Store update.

Source commit: 0f85672
SHA-256 values in checksums.txt cover the final signed installers. Do not replace an installer at a URL already submitted to the Store.

Nova Tweaks v1.0.6

Choose a tag to compare

@NovaTweaksDev NovaTweaksDev released this 15 Oct 19:42

Added

  • Added Display Profiles under Game Mode to capture and switch existing Windows/NVIDIA desktop and gaming display setups.
  • Save resolution, refresh rate, output timing, supported scaling, and readable Digital Vibrance together; associate tested profiles with a game executable for automatic switching.
  • Confirm display changes within 15 seconds, with an independent recovery journal and actions to restore the previous setup or keep the current settings.

Changed

  • Set the Performance and Ultimate power plans' processor boost mode to Aggressive (value 2). Existing plans receive the new value when reapplied.
  • Keep confirmed display modes in Windows' display database across restarts. Output color range is excluded from display profiles.
  • Include the NVIDIA NVAPI notices with the desktop distribution.

Validation

  • Passed source linting, interface type checks, the production build, and 343 automated tests; four optional tests were skipped.
  • Passed the packaged renderer startup and bundled helper/tweak integrity checks with system operations disabled.
  • Verified valid Authenticode signatures for the installer, desktop executable, administrator broker, and elevation helper.

Limitations

  • This is the regular Windows x64 desktop build, separate from the 1.0.5 Store build.
  • Display profiles capture modes already provided by Windows and the display driver; they do not create custom resolutions or edit game configuration files.
  • Display behavior depends on compatible hardware and drivers. Automated checks do not replace manual confirmation on the target monitor.
  • Power-plan changes do not guarantee higher FPS or lower latency.

Verify the installer against the included checksums.txt before running it.

Nova Tweaks v1.0.5 — Store package

Pre-release

@NovaTweaksDev NovaTweaksDev released this 13 Oct 21:55

Nova Tweaks 1.0.5 — Microsoft Store EXE package

This asset is the Microsoft Store variant for Windows x64. Use NovaTweaks-store-Setup-1.0.5-x64.exe. This variant excludes selected boot and security-sensitive tweaks and preserves the existing product identity for upgrades.

The installer and all 257 audited PE files have valid Authenticode signatures. Existing upstream signatures are preserved; 25 reviewed originally unsigned files carry Nova distributor signatures with unchanged pinned code content. The installer is offline and supports silent per-user installation with /S /currentuser.

Includes fixes for UAC cancellation waiting and config restoration when unavailable tweak values were captured. Unavailable values are omitted and reported as partial capture; safety backups remain strict.

Validation: 304 tests passed, one optional test skipped; lint and interface checks passed. Packaged smoke, source/profile checks, installer payload comparison, signature gates and final checksum passed. The maintainer confirmed config restoration in a Windows 10 VM with this exact installer. Broader Windows 10/11 install, launch, UAC, monitoring, uninstall and upgrade checks were performed on preceding candidates; physical sensors, full system rollback and every tweak target have not been independently verified.

This release does not imply Microsoft Store certification or guaranteed SmartScreen reputation. Nova Tweaks is free and open source; bundled license and source notices apply.

Nova Tweaks v1.0.4

Choose a tag to compare

@NovaTweaksDev NovaTweaksDev released this 08 Oct 15:12

Fixed

  • Automatically start enabled LibreHardwareMonitor sensors after administrator access is approved, including approval through the sidebar after a standard startup.
  • Preserve the enabled sensor preference while administrator approval is pending or declined, without repeated automatic UAC prompts.
  • Handle administrator approval arriving during an initial monitoring startup attempt without requiring an app restart or toggling sensors off and on.
  • Keep waiting for administrator approval separate from sensor startup failures and automatic process recovery.

Changed

  • Show a localized waiting message and an administrator-access action in Overview when hardware sensors are enabled but administrator access is unavailable.
  • Reuse the existing administrator broker and monitoring subscription flow; disabled sensors remain disabled and startup administrator approval remains opt-in.

Validation and limitations

  • Added regression coverage for deferred sensor activation, administrator approval, concurrent startup, disabled sensors, and genuine startup failures.
  • The full local test suite passed: 285 tests passed and one skipped. Source linting, interface type checks, and the production frontend build passed.
  • Real UAC approval and live hardware sensor readings still require manual verification on Windows.

Windows download

The Windows installer, application, and administrator broker are signed with the existing Certum code-signing certificate through SimplySign. SHA-256 installer checksums are included in checksums.txt.

Release verification: signed Windows packaging completed successfully; installer, application, and administrator broker signatures and timestamps verified; packaged application smoke test passed. Manual installation, real UAC approval, and live sensor readings have not been verified for this build.

Nova Tweaks v1.0.3

Choose a tag to compare

@NovaTweaksDev NovaTweaksDev released this 07 Oct 18:06

Nova Tweaks 1.0.3 for Windows x64.

  • Windows installer, application, and administrator broker signed with a Certum code-signing certificate and timestamps.
  • Bundled helper integrity checks remain enabled. Hash-pinned helpers are excluded from additional signing to preserve their expected contents.
  • SHA-256 installer checksum included in checksums.txt.

Validation: Windows packaging completed successfully; installer, application, and broker signatures verified as Valid; three bundled-sidecar integrity tests passed. Manual installation and runtime testing have not been performed for this build.
