Application settings
The Settings page allows users to configure notification duration, log retention, log level, receiver storage, plugin storage, and plugin-data storage. Most changes are applied immediately without restarting the application.
Settings are saved per user by default. When the application is running as an administrator, workstation-wide defaults can also be configured.
Plugins
Plugins can be imported from a single DLL, a collection of DLL files, or a ZIP archive. Installed plugins can provide new interface elements, receiver actions, application themes, settings, storage, logging, and argument handling.
Plugins can be enabled, disabled, refreshed, configured, and removed through the Manage Plugins page. Visit the project wiki for plugin-development instructions and API examples.
Installation
- Download
SimulcastUtilitySetup.exefrom the GitHub Releases page. - Run the installer.
- Select whether the application should be installed for the current user or the entire workstation.
- Optionally import an existing
receivers.jsonconfiguration. - Launch Simulcast Utility Suite from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
The installer publishes a self-contained Windows x64 application, so a separate .NET installation is not required.
Known considerations
- Receiver discovery requires the computer and receivers to be accessible across the configured network.
- Firewall rules, routing, or receiver response times may affect discovery and command execution.
- Receiver EPG responses may vary depending on receiver software and available broadcast information.
- Third-party plugins run inside the application and should only be installed from trusted sources.
- Checking for updates requires an active internet connection and access to GitHub.
