create annotations for taxa that are not in the synthetic tree

It would be great to have a set of annotations for taxa that exist in OTT but not the synthetic tree. For example, Drosophila does not exist in the synthetic tree, but we could find the MRCA of all of the descendants of Drosophila and annotate that node.
