0.7.0 - 2026-10-03

Added

  • A Graphics quality setting: Auto, Low, Balanced, High, or Ultra. Auto measures frame times when the city first opens and picks a tier. Low turns off post-processing, shadows, wide lines, and reflections for older GPUs.
  • Collapsible HUD panels. Each panel has a chevron, and H (or the Toggle HUD command) hides everything except the title and legend. Camera framing now leaves room for the panels that are open.
  • A Reset city layout command that clears saved district positions and switches to the compact layout.
  • A Toggle performance overlay command that shows frame rate, frame time, draw calls, and pixel ratio.

Improved

  • Districts pack into a compact block instead of one long column.
  • Rendering:
    • Real antialiasing and selective HDR bloom on windows, orbs, gems, and beacons.
    • Antialiased building edges and district outlines.
    • Fresnel and window shading, with status-tinted windows.
    • A grid ground with a horizon glow, contact shadows, and a vignette.
  • City labels no longer overlap. District names, the selection, and critical projects win when space is tight.
  • Quest gems and agent orbs stay readable at overview zoom.
  • Lighter on an always-open notes app:
    • Shadows render only when the city changes.
    • The city drops to about 30 fps after 5 seconds without input, and to about 5 fps while Obsidian is in the background.
    • Each view uses one WebGL context instead of three.
    • Dependency arcs are merged into a few draw calls.
    • Shaders compile before the first frame.
  • The Vault Mode toggle is a compact switch in the Projects header. Turning vault mode on while agents are live asks for confirmation.
  • Agents are named consistently as Codex CLI; a saved "GPT Codex" name is migrated once.
  • The documentation covers heartbeat.js --cwd and warns that a double-quoted Windows projectDir drops a note's whole frontmatter.

Fixed

  • The camera no longer jumps back to the overview when you save a note, change a lens, run Prepare vault, or toggle vault mode. Space still resets it.
  • Busy agents no longer flicker to "stale" between tool calls; live states last 90 seconds.
  • The "Last session" digest now appears for sessions that ping with --cwd but no --project.
  • The Obsidian format skills setting was missing on Obsidian 1.13 and later.

Compatibility

  • Desktop only; Obsidian 1.6.0 or later.
  • Cities with hand-placed districts keep their saved layout. Run Reset city layout to switch to the compact layout.
  • Graphics quality defaults to Auto. On HiDPI screens, High caps the pixel ratio at 1.5 (antialiasing makes up the difference); choose Ultra for full device resolution.
  • @hypernovum/core changes are additive. Hypernovum Pro has a separate release cycle.
