What's new

Live trace lines carry the server's time (#22, thanks @klasen)

Each live trace line is now stamped with the time eDirectory reports for the event, not the time it reached the viewer. That's the time DSTrace itself and the server's trace files show, so a live trace lines up with them, and a delay on the network no longer shifts the stamps.

  • Several servers: with more than one server, each line carries its own server's clock.
  • No time from the server: a server that sends no time falls back to the viewer's clock.
  • After 2038: the server's time is read as unsigned, so it keeps working once it no longer fits a signed number.

Checked against a live eDirectory lab: the server's time was within 9–19 ms of the local clock.

Names with escaped commas (#24)

A server or driver whose name contains an escaped comma, equals sign, plus sign or UTF-8 escape (cn=Smith\, John, cn=caf\C3\A9) showed the wrong name. Those names now show correctly, and the check for which server the viewer is connected to now gets them right too. DNs are read the LDAP way (RFC 4514) rather than split on commas.
