Marvin 3.2.9
Marvin 3.2.9 removes the Pydantic AI and Anthropic ceilings introduced in 3.2.8 and fixes compatibility with current releases. Pydantic AI remains unbounded above, with a minimum of 1.32.0.
- Replace the removed
UsageAPI withRunUsage, preserving token counts in older database records. - Accumulate streaming responses using public message parts and deltas instead of Pydantic AI's private parts manager.
- Handle both generations of usage access and function-tool result events.
- Accept current native MCP toolsets and FastMCP servers while retaining the older MCP integration.
- Update the OpenAI provider example for the current model class.
- Add a CI job that installs current AI dependencies independently of the workspace lockfile.
Validation: a fresh wheel install resolved Pydantic AI 2.62.0, OpenAI 3.40.0, Anthropic 2.3.0, and FastMCP 4.1.4. Six basic examples, validation retries, file-writing tools, explicit classification checks, and real MCP tool calls passed with live API calls. A live Anthropic call also passed. The six basic examples passed on Pydantic AI 1.32.0 as well.
262 locked basic tests and 254 current-stack core tests passed. Regression tests cover interleaved streaming, legacy usage records, MCP tool failures, connection reuse, and cleanup. Static checks and the current-dependency CI job passed.
This release applies the compatibility changes to v3.2.8 without including unrelated work on main. Mainline changes: #1408.
