Rowfish v0.1.7 🐟

postgres servers that only take encrypted connections (no pg_hba.conf entry ... no encryption) now just connect. plus the window remembers where you left it.

install

already on the tap? brew upgrade --cask rowfish then the xattr line again. or grab the arm64 dmg/zip below.

status

  • same as before: postgres first, mongodb works, mac arm64 only, unsigned, no auto-update

what's in it

  • proper sslmode: follows libpq. prefer is the default (tls first, plain if the server has none), require encrypts without cert checks, verify-ca checks the chain not the hostname, verify-full both, disable never
  • ssl mode picker replaces the Require TLS checkbox for postgres in manual mode (mongo keeps its toggle)
  • conn strings: sslmode, sslrootcert, sslcert, sslkey respected. allow → prefer, no-verify → require
  • tls hints: no-encryption, self-signed, hostname mismatch errors tell you which mode to pick
  • window state: size, position, maximised and full screen survive a relaunch. unplugged a monitor? it comes back on screen instead of somewhere off in the void

heads up

  • old saved profiles: tls on is now verify-full, tls off is now prefer. so existing hostssl connections start working without re-saving
  • self-signed / connecting by IP with tls on? switch it to require or verify-ca
