Release list
Version 3.02
Newest update for GokonSoftworks, adding 3 new games. Read the damn readme for more details and GokonSoftworks_Guide.txt if you need more info.
If you're a modder, you should unpack the games again with GokonSoftworks 3.02, it will unpack more files than previous versions of GokonSoftworks/Aldnoah Engine and it detects more subcontainers that previously evaded detection.
Version 3.012
GokonSoftworks is ready to make modding Koei Tecmo games easier and more pleasant than before! Make sure to read the readme and GokonSoftworks_Guide.txt before creating an issue. I spent months overhauling the toolkit as well as doing extensive testing, so please take the time to read the readme and text Guide as it answers a lot of questions
3.012 is a small change from 3.01, it allows DW6 to be unpacked/rebuilt regardless of the filenames for the main files (different region versions of the game used different filenames for the BIN and IDX file)
Version 3.01
GokonSoftworks is ready to make modding Koei Tecmo games easier and more pleasant than before! Make sure to read the readme and GokonSoftworks_Guide.txt before creating an issue. I spent months overhauling the toolkit as well as doing extensive testing, so please take the time to read the readme and text Guide as it answers a lot of questions
Version 2.025
This is the newest version of AE with quite a bit of new features.
I HIGHLY recommend reading the readme, read AE_Guide.txt if you need more guidance. You only need to read Aldnoah_Installer_Rules_Guide.txt if you intend to make installer mods.
As explained in the readme, AE 2.025 does not include Editors. If you want to use the previous Editors I built then download AE 2.0243 or AE 2.023
AE 2.025 includes the Aldnoah Merger for merging mods but I may change the design in later versions, still deciding.
Version 2.0243
This is the newest version of Aldnoah Engine, far better than before especially now that it follows what my Conception Engine, Katsuki Engine, and Gokonworks does for storing taildata in a single json.
I HIGHLY recommend reading the readme, AE_Guide.txt, and Aldnoah_Installer_Rules_Guide.txt (if you intend to make mod installer mods, if not you can ignore Aldnoah_Installer_Rules_Guide.txt) because version 2.024 is very different from older versions.
Modders may need to remake their mods with version 2.024 if the mods were made in older versions due to a change in how taildata is handled.
If you have issues make sure you read the readme and AE_Guide.txt before creating an issue, if you don't want to upgrade to 2.024 or later versions then stick with the previous release (and naturally make sure your mod description tells gamers they need the specific AE version you made the mod with) because going forward AE will follow the same workflow as my other engines/toolkits by storing taildata in a single json.
Version 2.023
The newest version of AE with many new features including modding editors, GUI upgrades, etc.
Please read the readme and AE_Guide.txt for usage/info. Also read Aldnoah_Installer_Rules_Guide.txt if you intend to make Aldnoah installer mods.
I highly recommend running a new unpack with 2.02 if you intend to mod the files, 2.02 unpacks a bit differently from 2.0161.
Large scale editors such as Ambition Mode Editor, Conquest Mode Editor, Legend Mode Editor, etc will be included in later versions.
As said before, more editors will be made in future versions. 2.02 is simply the first release to include built-in editors, many more will be made in 2.03 and later versions.
Version 2.0161
Big update to unpacking/subcontainer code. This is the current public version of Aldnoah Engine, version 2.02 is the next release. This update further unpacks subcontainers and discovers new file formats.
I suggest deleting the previous version unpack folders of the games and running unpack again with 2.0161, this version unpacks far more than 2.015 did and discovers new file formats and assigns said extensions for them.
Version 2.015
Current public version of Aldnoah Engine, this includes new features and code change. Prepare your SSD/HDD, games now unpack with WAY more files. those subcontainers KT makes are organized but they really store so many damn files.
Version 2.013
This release fixes an issue that the previous version had with unpacking DW8XL, now DW8XL unpacks properly.
This release also addresses some subcontainers that avoided subcontainer detection, now every subcontainer for all games unpacks/rebuilds properly. What that means is all games supported by Aldnoah Engine now unpack with more files (i.e., with 2.013 Orochi 3 now unpacks with 191,732 files, DW8XL unpacks with 143,592 files, DW8E unpacks with 151,196 files, etc).
Version 2.013 is incompatible with version 0.92 if anyone still uses that older version. Make sure you unpack the games you want to mod with version 2.013, 2.013 unpacks way more files than previous versions. Also make sure when you unpack again that the containers of the game you're unpacking are unmodded copies, just for the unpacking process.
Version 2.01
Just a slight change to the readme now that Harklight has been made, version 2.1 is planned at a later date.
Please read the readme, it has new details and explains how to use. Version 2.1 will tackle full audio support for other games Aldnoah Engine supports.
Version 2.0 is incompatible with previous versions of Aldnoah Engine, meaning mods made in the past will need to be created again with 2.0's Mod Creator. It's not hard to do, just click some buttons and type the metadata (author, mod name, version, description, etc) in mod creator and it'll make your mods compatible with AE 2.0. Make sure you unpack the games you want to mod with version 2.0, 2.0 unpacks way more files than version 0.92 did.
