First release of userdir-publish, a command-line tool that publishes a built static website to a personal web directory served by Apache's mod_userdir, such as https://web.example.edu/~jdoe/. See the documentation for installation and usage.

✨ New features

  • Mirrors a static website with rsync over SSH or to a local web directory, removes stale files, protects selected paths with --keep, and applies web-readable permissions (#4)
  • Refuses builds without index.html or with an outdated .htaccess, and offers --dry-run and progress output (see the CLI reference) (#4)
  • Combines personal configuration, [tool.userdir-publish] settings, and CLI flags, with host-specific login names and --show-config (see Configuration) (#4)

📝 Documentation

🖱️ Developer Experience

  • Adds style, documentation, and test checks, configuration schema generation, and release workflows for the documentation and PyPI package (#4)
