Full Changelog: v0.1.4...v1.0.0
v0.1.4
Claude subscription limits now refresh without keeping a terminal session open. Agent setup and history sources are grouped together, and usage views make better use of the widget's space.
Changes
- Refresh native account limits independently for Codex and Claude Code. Failed queries no longer make old snapshots appear current.
- Connect or disconnect monitoring from each agent's settings card. Existing agent sign-ins and collected history are preserved.
- Choose which reported limits to display, with bars or compact rings and reset details beside each ring.
- View each agent's current weekly reset cycle separately in Both mode. Selecting a day shows the matching agent's activity; combined history includes a breakdown on hover.
- Remove the retired Claude status-line capture integration automatically, restoring a backed-up custom status line when available.
Claude usage queries rely on an experimental native interface, verified with Claude Code 2.1.301. Unsupported versions show an unavailable state.
Install or update
Download the Linux .tar.gz or Windows .zip, close the running widget, and extract the entire archive. Keep _internal beside the executable. Local settings and collected history are preserved.
Source installations can update with git pull --ff-only on main, then run uv run --locked --no-dev agent-usage.
v0.1.2
This release fixes Windows setup and lets the widget fit its height to the visible content.
- Discover Codex automatically from its native installation or the official extension in VS Code, VS Code Insiders, and Cursor. Reuse the existing login in the same environment; no separate CLI installation is needed when the extension executable is found.
- Show distinct missing-executable, login, account-type, and connection states.
- Add Agent Usage to the Windows Start menu on the first normal launch. Opening the executable after moving its folder updates the shortcut.
- Resize the widget automatically as its visible content changes.
Windows update: close the previous version, extract the entire Windows ZIP, and double-click agent-usage.exe. Keep _internal next to the executable. Afterwards, open Agent Usage from Start. Existing history and settings remain outside the application folder.
Validated on Linux and Windows with Python 3.12 and 3.14, including native Windows shortcuts and smoke tests of both distributed archives. No new runtime dependencies.

v0.1.1
First public release of Agent Usage: a local desktop widget for Codex and Claude Code activity, subscription limits, and reset times.
| Platform | Portable download |
|---|---|
| Linux x64 | Download .tar.gz |
| Windows x64 | Download .zip |
Extract the whole folder and open agent-usage or agent-usage.exe. Keep _internal beside the executable; Python and Qt are included.
Run with --demo to explore six months of fictional activity in an isolated profile. For real data, see the agent setup instructions. API cost estimates are not subscription charges.
Both portable archives passed startup, quota capture, demo, chart, Settings, and shutdown checks in release CI. SHA-256 checksums accompany the downloads.
