PhoneEdge 2.0.1 — Cohere Arabic for everyone

Download (all three are the same PhoneEdge 2.0.1):

• PhoneEdge-2.0.1-Setup.exe: run it, done. It also updates an older PhoneEdge (your settings stay). Not sure? Take this one.
• PhoneEdge-2.0.1-win-x64-bundled.zip: no installer, .NET included.
• PhoneEdge-2.0.1-win-x64.zip: for PCs that already have the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime.

Already on 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 or 2.0? Click Update now in the tray panel (or Settings → General → Check for updates). "Windows protected your PC"? PhoneEdge isn't code-signed yet: click More info → Run anyway.

Cohere Arabic for everyone

• Much better Arabic voice commands, in one click: Settings → Voice & AI → Speed or accuracy → Cohere Arabic (experimental) → Download (2.46 GB, no account needed).
• In our tests with an Iraqi speaker it made less than half the Arabic mistakes of Whisper, handled Arabic mixed with English better, and answered in about a quarter of a second.
• Made for Arabic speakers: it hears every command as Arabic first (English words mixed in are fine). If you mostly speak English, keep the default (Whisper). Hold Right Shift to write picks English or Arabic by itself.
• Needs a graphics card with 4 GB of its own memory. It runs on your PC: what you say never leaves it. While it downloads, voice keeps working with your current model.
• It's Cohere Labs' Cohere Transcribe Arabic (Apache 2.0), as published by the makers of transcribe.cpp, the engine that runs it; every file is checked before use. Delete in the same place removes all of it.

Tested on a Honor Magic V3 (Android 16) with Windows 11. Includes scrcpy 5.0.1 (with SDL3, FFmpeg, libusb), adb and NAudio. Downloaded only when you turn them on: Whisper.net (voice commands), Cohere Transcribe Arabic with transcribe.cpp, Silero VAD and a language detector (Cohere Arabic), llama.cpp's llama-server and the AI models from Hugging Face (AI brain), and the Anthropic SDK (My own AI with Claude). Their licenses are in the download.

Cohere للعربية للجميع

• أوامر صوتية بالعربية أفضل بكثير، بنقرة واحدة: الإعدادات ← الصوت والذكاء الاصطناعي ← السرعة أم الدقة ← Cohere للعربية (تجريبي) ← تنزيل (2.46 غيغابايت، بلا حاجة إلى حساب).
• في تجاربنا مع متحدث عراقي ارتكب أقل من نصف أخطاء Whisper في العربية، وتعامل أفضل مع العربية الممزوجة بالإنجليزية، وأجاب في نحو ربع ثانية.
• مصنوع لمن يتكلم العربية: يسمع كل أمر بالعربية أولًا (لا بأس بكلمات إنجليزية في وسطه). إذا كنت تتكلم الإنجليزية في الغالب، فابقَ على الاختيار الافتراضي (Whisper). أما الضغط المطوّل على Shift الأيمن للكتابة فيختار العربية أو الإنجليزية من تلقاء نفسه.
• يحتاج إلى بطاقة رسومات بذاكرة خاصة بها لا تقل عن 4 غيغابايت. ويعمل على الكمبيوتر نفسه: ما تقوله لا يغادره أبدًا. وأثناء التنزيل يبقى الصوت يعمل بنموذجك الحالي.
• إنه نموذج Cohere Transcribe Arabic من Cohere Labs (رخصة Apache 2.0)، كما نشره صانعو transcribe.cpp، المحرّك الذي يشغّله؛ ويُتحقَّق من كل ملف قبل استخدامه. ويحذفه كله زر حذف في المكان نفسه.
