PhoneEdge 2.2 — your PC talks back (in Iraqi), listens hands-free, and wakes from your phone

Download (all three are the same PhoneEdge 2.2.0):

Your PC talks back, in Iraqi

• Settings → Voice & AI → Talk back: the PC says its replies out loud.
• Arabic replies sound Iraqi, the way people talk (or Standard Arabic, your choice). English replies are said in English. The text on the screen stays the same.
• A female or a male voice. Choose when it speaks: After my voice commands, Answers only or Always.
• The voice runs on your PC, even without the internet: a one-time download (about 400 MB) from Supertone's official page. Nothing is sent anywhere.
• Off until you turn it on.

Hands-free: talk without holding a key

• Settings → Voice & AI → Hands-free:
  • Say its name first: "Effortless, open Steam", «إفورتلس، افتح ستيم». The name can be Effortless, PhoneEdge or your own.
  • Just talk: only clear commands like "open Steam" or "next song" are done; chat and questions are ignored.
• It pauses by itself in full-screen games, while the PC is locked, while another app uses the microphone and while PhoneEdge speaks.
• Nothing it hears is kept. Off until you turn it on (needs the voice commands' speech model).

Wake your PC from the phone

• While the PC sleeps, the phone's remote shows a Wake the PC card with one big button.
• On Ethernet it wakes the PC from sleep, and from shut down if the BIOS allows it. On Wi-Fi: from sleep.
• Set it up once: Settings → Phone extras → Wake this PC from the phone checks your PC and shows the steps.

Fixed

• Phones that kept dropping off the Wi-Fi every 20–60 minutes (seen on a POCO with HyperOS): the phone extras now send a small keep-alive so the link stays up. They update themselves to version 25.

Tested on a Honor Magic V3 (Android 16) with Windows 11. Includes scrcpy 5.0.1 (with SDL3, FFmpeg, libusb), adb, NAudio and ZXing.Net. Downloaded only when you turn them on: Whisper.net (voice commands), Cohere Transcribe Arabic with transcribe.cpp, Silero VAD and a language detector (Cohere Arabic), llama.cpp's llama-server and the AI models from Hugging Face (AI brain), the Anthropic SDK (My own AI with Claude), and Supertonic 3 with ONNX Runtime (Talk back). الكمبيوتر يرد عليك بالصوت، باللهجة العراقية

• الإعدادات ← الصوت والذكاء الاصطناعي ← الرد بالصوت: يقول الكمبيوتر ردوده بصوت مسموع.
• تُنطق الردود العربية باللهجة العراقية كما يتكلم الناس (أو بالفصحى، حسب اختيارك). والردود الإنجليزية تُقال بالإنجليزية. النص على الشاشة يبقى كما هو.
• صوت أنثى أو ذكر. واختر متى يتكلم: بعد أوامري الصوتية، أو الإجابات فقط، أو دائمًا.
• الصوت يعمل على الكمبيوتر نفسه، حتى دون إنترنت: تنزيل لمرة واحدة (نحو 400 ميغابايت) من صفحة Supertone الرسمية. لا يُرسل شيء إلى أي مكان.
• لا يعمل حتى تشغّله.

بدون يدين: تكلّم دون الضغط على مفتاح

• الإعدادات ← الصوت والذكاء الاصطناعي ← بدون يدين:
  • قل اسمه أولًا: «إفورتلس، افتح ستيم»، "Effortless, open Steam". يمكن أن يكون الاسم Effortless أو PhoneEdge أو اسمًا من اختيارك.
  • تكلّم فقط: تُنفَّذ الأوامر الواضحة وحدها، مثل «افتح ستيم» أو «الأغنية التالية»، ويُتجاهَل الكلام العادي والأسئلة.
• يتوقف من تلقاء نفسه أثناء الألعاب بملء الشاشة، وحين يكون الكمبيوتر مقفلًا، وحين يستخدم تطبيق آخر الميكروفون، وأثناء كلام PhoneEdge.
• لا يُحفظ شيء مما يسمعه. لا يعمل حتى تشغّله (يحتاج إلى نموذج الكلام الخاص بالأوامر الصوتية).

أيقظ الكمبيوتر من الهاتف

• حين يكون الكمبيوتر في وضع السكون، يظهر في التحكم عن بُعد على الهاتف قسم إيقاظ الكمبيوتر بزر كبير واحد.
• عبر الإيثرنت يوقظه من وضع السكون، وبعد إيقاف التشغيل أيضًا إن سمح BIOS بذلك. وعبر Wi-Fi: من وضع السكون.
• أعِدّه مرة واحدة: الإعدادات ← إضافات الهاتف ← إيقاظ هذا الكمبيوتر من الهاتف يفحص الكمبيوتر ويعرض لك الخطوات.

إصلاحات

• الهواتف التي كانت تنقطع عن Wi-Fi كل 20 إلى 60 دقيقة (لوحظ ذلك على POCO بنظام HyperOS): صارت إضافات الهاتف ترسل إشارة صغيرة منتظمة تُبقي الاتصال قائمًا. وتُحدّث نفسها إلى الإصدار 25.

Scan a QR code on your PC screen with your phone, no camera

• Press Ctrl+Alt+R: PhoneEdge reads the QR code nearest the mouse and opens it on your phone right away.
• Signing in with your phone: Google's "Sign in with a passkey", Discord, Steam, Telegram Desktop and other "scan this code with your phone" screens open on the phone.
• Links open in their app, Wi-Fi codes make the phone join that network, 2-step sign-in codes open your authenticator app, text lands on the phone's clipboard.
• Also from the tray panel's new Scan QR button, or by voice: "scan the QR code", «امسح الكود».
• Windows asking for this PC's PIN instead of showing a QR code? Click Choose a different passkey → your phone, then Ctrl+Alt+R.
• Nothing of your screen is saved, and what a code says never goes into PhoneEdge's log.

Fixed

• The hotkeys now work over every window, including programs running as administrator (Task Manager, installers) and Windows Security boxes. Only crossing to the phone still needs a normal window in front: Ctrl+Alt+Q then says so.

امسح رمز QR على شاشة الكمبيوتر بهاتفك، بلا كاميرا

• اضغط Ctrl+Alt+R: يقرأ PhoneEdge رمز QR الأقرب إلى الفأرة ويفتحه على هاتفك فورًا.
• تسجيل الدخول بهاتفك: شاشة «تسجيل الدخول بمفتاح مرور» من Google، وDiscord وSteam وTelegram Desktop وغيرها من شاشات «امسح هذا الرمز بهاتفك» تُفتح على الهاتف.
• الروابط تُفتح في تطبيقها، ورموز الواي فاي تجعل الهاتف يتصل بتلك الشبكة، ورموز التحقق بخطوتين تفتح تطبيق المصادقة، والنص يُنسخ إلى حافظة الهاتف.
• أيضًا من زر مسح QR الجديد في لوحة الأيقونة، أو بالصوت: «امسح الكود»، "scan the QR code".
• يطلب Windows رمز PIN لهذا الكمبيوتر بدل عرض رمز QR؟ انقر اختيار مفتاح مرور آخر ← هاتفك، ثم Ctrl+Alt+R.
• لا يُحفظ أي شيء من شاشتك، ولا يُكتب محتوى الرمز في سجل PhoneEdge أبدًا.

إصلاحات

Your keyboard picks the language

• Voice follows your keyboard: English keyboard → you're heard in English; Arabic keyboard → in Arabic. No more guessing, for voice commands, Hold Right Shift to write and the phone's mic.
• A small EN / ع chip on the PC's voice bar shows which language was used.
• If a command isn't understood, the other language is still tried (dictation never switches).
• Prefer the old way? Settings → Voice & AI → Voice language → Detect it.

Pick the PC's sound output from your phone

• Remote → PC sound output: your headphones, speakers and monitors, named as in Windows. Tap one and all the PC's sound moves there.
• Just one app: under Apps playing sound, send Spotify to your headphones while the game stays on the speakers (Same as the PC puts it back).
• Home-screen widget: a new button shows the current output; tap it for the next one.
• By voice: "switch sound to the headphones", "play Spotify on the speakers", «حوّل الصوت للسماعات».
• The phone extras update themselves to version 24 the next time they connect.

Also

• PhoneEdge 2.1 is free to use, but it's no longer open source (see LICENSE in the download). Versions up to 2.0.1 stay under the Apache License 2.0.

لوحة المفاتيح تختار اللغة

• الصوت يتبع لوحة المفاتيح: لوحة مفاتيح إنجليزية ← يُفهم كلامك بالإنجليزية، ولوحة مفاتيح عربية ← بالعربية. بلا تخمين، في الأوامر الصوتية والضغط المطوّل على Shift الأيمن للكتابة وميكروفون الهاتف.
• تُظهر شارة صغيرة EN / ع على شريط الصوت في الكمبيوتر اللغة المستخدمة.
• إذا لم يُفهم الأمر، تُجرَّب اللغة الأخرى (أما الكتابة بالصوت فلا تغيّر لغتها أبدًا).
• تفضّل الطريقة القديمة؟ الإعدادات ← الصوت والذكاء الاصطناعي ← لغة الصوت ← اكتشفها تلقائيًا.

اختر مخرج صوت الكمبيوتر من هاتفك

• التحكم عن بُعد ← مخرج صوت الكمبيوتر: سماعاتك ومكبرات الصوت والشاشات بأسمائها في Windows. اضغط أحدها فينتقل كل صوت الكمبيوتر إليه.
• تطبيق واحد فقط: تحت التطبيقات التي تشغّل صوتًا، أرسل Spotify إلى سماعات الرأس بينما تبقى اللعبة على مكبرات الصوت (ومثل الكمبيوتر يعيده كما كان).
• الأداة على الشاشة الرئيسية: زر جديد يُظهر المخرج الحالي، اضغطه للانتقال إلى التالي.
• بالصوت: «حوّل الصوت للسماعات»، «شغّل سبوتيفاي على السبيكر»، "switch sound to the headphones".
• تُحدِّث إضافات الهاتف نفسها إلى الإصدار 24 عند الاتصال التالي.

Cohere Arabic for everyone

• Much better Arabic voice commands, in one click: Settings → Voice & AI → Speed or accuracy → Cohere Arabic (experimental) → Download (2.46 GB, no account needed).
• In our tests with an Iraqi speaker it made less than half the Arabic mistakes of Whisper, handled Arabic mixed with English better, and answered in about a quarter of a second.
• Made for Arabic speakers: it hears every command as Arabic first (English words mixed in are fine). If you mostly speak English, keep the default (Whisper). Hold Right Shift to write picks English or Arabic by itself.
• Needs a graphics card with 4 GB of its own memory. It runs on your PC: what you say never leaves it. While it downloads, voice keeps working with your current model.
• It's Cohere Labs' Cohere Transcribe Arabic (Apache 2.0), as published by the makers of transcribe.cpp, the engine that runs it; every file is checked before use. Delete in the same place removes all of it.

Cohere للعربية للجميع

• أوامر صوتية بالعربية أفضل بكثير، بنقرة واحدة: الإعدادات ← الصوت والذكاء الاصطناعي ← السرعة أم الدقة ← Cohere للعربية (تجريبي) ← تنزيل (2.46 غيغابايت، بلا حاجة إلى حساب).
• في تجاربنا مع متحدث عراقي ارتكب أقل من نصف أخطاء Whisper في العربية، وتعامل أفضل مع العربية الممزوجة بالإنجليزية، وأجاب في نحو ربع ثانية.
• مصنوع لمن يتكلم العربية: يسمع كل أمر بالعربية أولًا (لا بأس بكلمات إنجليزية في وسطه). إذا كنت تتكلم الإنجليزية في الغالب، فابقَ على الاختيار الافتراضي (Whisper). أما الضغط المطوّل على Shift الأيمن للكتابة فيختار العربية أو الإنجليزية من تلقاء نفسه.
• يحتاج إلى بطاقة رسومات بذاكرة خاصة بها لا تقل عن 4 غيغابايت. ويعمل على الكمبيوتر نفسه: ما تقوله لا يغادره أبدًا. وأثناء التنزيل يبقى الصوت يعمل بنموذجك الحالي.
• إنه نموذج Cohere Transcribe Arabic من Cohere Labs (رخصة Apache 2.0)، كما نشره صانعو transcribe.cpp، المحرّك الذي يشغّله؛ ويُتحقَّق من كل ملف قبل استخدامه. ويحذفه كله زر حذف في المكان نفسه.

Talk to your PC in your own words (AI brain)

• Voice commands now understand normal sentences, in English, Arabic or both mixed: "open Discord and put it on the left", «افتح سبوتيفاي وشغّل الأغنية التالية». A small AI runs on your PC: what you say never leaves it.
• Turn it on: Settings → Voice & AI → AI brain → Light (about 2 GB), Standard or Best (for strong graphics cards) → Download. Nothing is downloaded until you click.
• Careful by design: it opens or closes only the apps you named, and anything hard to undo (closing an app, sleep, restart, shut down, sign out, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth off) asks first: say "yes".
• Memory: say "remember that my browser is Opera GX". See and change what it knows in the Memory window.
• Games first: the AI and the speech model leave the graphics card while you play full screen and after 5 minutes idle, and come back the moment you talk.
• My own AI: prefer Claude, Gemini, an OpenAI-compatible service, or Ollama / LM Studio? Use it with your own key (kept encrypted on this PC). PhoneEdge tells you what is sent before anything is.

Your PC's hands

• Files and folders: "open my Downloads", "open the newest screenshot", "find my CV".
• Quick settings and power: brightness, dark mode, night light, do not disturb, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Windows settings pages, a screenshot, and sleep / restart / shut down (always asks first).
• Typing by voice: "type see you at 5", keys like "save" or "new tab", browser tabs ("close this tab", "go back"), and "message Claude how do I center a div". It sends only when you say "send".
• Click by name: "click Save", "open the File menu", "check Remember me". In apps that hide their buttons from Windows (like Steam), PhoneEdge reads the text of the app in front to find them (Settings → Voice & AI → Understanding).
• App pages: "open Steam's downloads".
• Another monitor: "move this window to the other monitor", "move Discord to monitor 2".

Hold Right Shift to write

• Hold Right Shift, talk, let go: your words are typed where the cursor is, in any app. It never presses Enter and never types into password boxes.
• On by default once the speech model is downloaded (voice commands users: right after the update). Another key or Off: Settings → Voice & AI → Hold to write (dictation).
• Holding Right Shift for 8 seconds is also Windows' Filter Keys shortcut. For long dictations, turn that shortcut off: Windows Settings → Accessibility → Keyboard → Filter keys.

Recent commands

• See what PhoneEdge heard, play the sound back, and what it did. Kept 24 hours, on this PC only.
• On by default for voice commands users: it keeps a recording of each command. Turn it off (and delete what's kept): Settings → Voice & AI → Privacy → Keep for 24 hours.

Settings, tidied up

• Seven short pages instead of one long one, and Find a setting (Ctrl+F).

Phone extras 23

• Rearrange and hide the Remote's sections (Edit layout), and a cleaner Remote screen. Your phone updates it by itself.

Fixed

• "open Steam and Discord" could open another app (Windscribe), a lone "open" could open Opera, and "play the next song on Spotify" searched YouTube.

Tested on a Honor Magic V3 (Android 16) with Windows 11. Includes scrcpy 5.0.1 (with SDL3, FFmpeg, libusb), adb and NAudio. Downloaded only when you turn them on: Whisper.net (voice commands), llama.cpp's llama-server and the AI models from Hugging Face (AI brain), and the Anthropic SDK (My own AI with Claude). كلّم الكمبيوتر بكلماتك (الذكاء الاصطناعي)

• الأوامر الصوتية تفهم الآن الجمل العادية، بالعربية أو الإنجليزية أو بالاثنتين معًا: «افتح سبوتيفاي وشغّل الأغنية التالية»، "open Discord and put it on the left". ذكاء اصطناعي صغير يعمل على الكمبيوتر نفسه: ما تقوله لا يغادره أبدًا.
• لتشغيله: الإعدادات ← الصوت والذكاء الاصطناعي ← الذكاء الاصطناعي ← خفيف (نحو 2 غيغابايت) أو عادي أو الأفضل (لبطاقات الرسومات القوية) ← تنزيل. لا يُنزَّل شيء قبل أن تنقر.
• حذِر بطبعه: لا يفتح ولا يغلق إلا التطبيقات التي ذكرتها، وكل ما يصعب التراجع عنه (إغلاق تطبيق، السكون، إعادة التشغيل، إيقاف التشغيل، تسجيل الخروج، إيقاف Wi-Fi أو Bluetooth) يسألك أولًا: قل «نعم».

• يعمل تلقائيًا بعد تنزيل نموذج الكلام (من يستخدم الأوامر الصوتية: فور التحديث). لمفتاح آخر أو لإيقافه: الإعدادات ← الصوت والذكاء الاصطناعي ← اضغط مطولًا للكتابة (إملاء).

A smaller download for everyone

• The voice commands' engine is now downloaded only if you use voice commands. Everyone else gets a much smaller PhoneEdge: the bundled zip goes from 102 MB to 83 MB, the small zip from 33 MB to 14 MB.
• Using voice commands already? Nothing to do: after the update PhoneEdge fetches the engine once by itself in the background (about 55 MB, from Whisper.net's official packages on nuget.org, checked before use). Voice keeps working while it does.
• Turning voice commands on for the first time: Settings → Connection → Voice commands → Download now fetches the engine and the speech model together, with one progress bar.
• Deleting the speech model can now remove the engine too, and uninstalling PhoneEdge removes it.

New: talk to your PC

• Voice commands. Tap the mic on your phone (the remote, the widget, the PC player card, the new Voice command tile, or long-press the PhoneEdge icon) and say what you want: "open Claude and Opera", "volume 30", "search YouTube for lo-fi music", "pause", "next", "show desktop", "lock the PC". English, Arabic, or both in one sentence («افتح Steam»).
• Your words appear as you speak, and it stops by itself when you stop talking. No button to press.
• At the PC: hold Right Ctrl and talk, let go and it's done (Settings → Connection → Voice commands). Pick which microphone: Windows' default, any mic you have, or your phone's (it listens even when it's locked, just for that).
• Works in a noisy room: it stops by itself once your words stop, even with a fan or TV on.
• Speed or accuracy: Fast answers in about half a second; Most accurate (the full Whisper large-v3, its own 3.1 GB download, for graphics cards with 6 GB or more) understands more, Arabic above all, in about a second.
• Routines: one name opens several apps and web pages at once, e.g. "Work mode" → Claude + Opera. Say it, or tap its button on the phone's remote. Settings → Connection → Voice commands → Add a routine.
• Private and free: your voice is turned into text on your own PC (Whisper). Nothing goes to the internet, and nothing you say is saved. The first time, PhoneEdge downloads the speech model once (about 0.9 GB; about 0.26 GB on PCs without a graphics card).

Also new

• Pick where sound plays from the phone's remote: each its own, phone sound on the PC, or PC sound on the phone.
• A cleaner phone status bar: Settings → Connection → Phone status bar icons: hide the alarm, silent, NFC and other icons. Android's "Wireless debugging connected" icon now really goes away on Honor phones too.
• "What's new" in Arabic on PCs that use PhoneEdge in Arabic (from this version on).
• Fixed: Settings sometimes stopped scrolling before the end of a page in a small window.

• السرعة أم الدقة: السريع يجيب في نحو نصف ثانية؛ والأدق (Whisper large-v3 الكامل، بتنزيل خاص به 3.1 غيغابايت، لبطاقات الرسومات التي فيها 6 غيغابايت أو أكثر) يفهم أكثر، والعربية خاصةً، في نحو ثانية.

The hot corner, better

• Push again to go back. The remote is open and you push into the corner again: the phone goes back to the app you were in. If its screen was off before, it turns off again.
• No waiting. Out of the corner and straight back in toggles the remote at once (it used to ignore you for 2 seconds).
• Choose how long to push: Settings → Mouse & keyboard → Hot corner: how long to push, from Instant to 1 second.
• A filling ring in the corner shows how far your push is (not with Instant).
• Locked phone? The unlock shows right away (face, fingerprint or PIN), then the remote opens. Tip: add your PC as a trusted device in the phone's Smart Lock / Extend Unlock settings and it opens with no unlock at all while your phone is near the PC. PhoneEdge never sees or stores your PIN.
• Faster: the remote opens in about 0.05 s instead of 0.3 s, with a small buzz on the phone.
• Quieter: just "Remote on " on the PC.

New: the PC remote, one step away

• Hot corner. Push the mouse into the bottom corner on your phone's side of the screen and keep pushing for a moment: the phone's screen wakes up with the PC remote open. A quick flick to click "Show desktop" doesn't trigger it, and it stays off while a game or video is full screen. Pick another corner or switch it off in Settings → Mouse & keyboard.
• The PhoneEdge icon on the phone opens the remote straight away. Status and settings are at the bottom of the remote (or the ⚙ at the top). Your home-screen icon stays where it is.
• What plays on the PC shows on the phone. YouTube in your browser, Spotify and other players appear in the phone's notification shade like any music player: the title, ⏮ ⏯ ⏭ and a seek bar, all controlling the PC.
• A remote widget for the home screen: ⏮ ⏯ ⏭, the PC's volume and your PC apps. One tap opens an app on the PC.
• A "PC remote" quick settings tile. Add the widget and the tile in one tap from the phone extras' Status and settings.

While a game or video fills the screen, pushing the mouse past the edge no longer jumps to the phone, so a fast flick in a game can't throw you out of it. Ctrl+Alt+Q still crosses when you want to. On by default; switch it off in Settings → Mouse & keyboard.

• Next, Previous and Play/Pause on the phone remote work more reliably. They now go straight to the player Windows shows in its volume pop-up (Spotify, YouTube in the browser, …), even when a game, an app running as administrator or keyboard software is in front. The note at the bottom right names the player (for example "Next · Spotify").

Tested on a Honor Magic V3 (Android 16) with Windows 11. Includes scrcpy 5.0.1 (with SDL3, FFmpeg, libusb), adb and NAudio; their licenses are in the download.
