RetroForge PS4 Player 0.8.1 beta
A companion for RetroForge, not a standalone emulator: it has no game list of its own. Install RetroForge 0.8.1 first: https://github.com/RetroForgeFrontEnd/RetroForge/releases. RetroForge finds your PS4 games and opens them here.
This is an early preview and the first release. It's built on shadPS4 (GPL-2.0-or-later), through the shadps4-arm64 fork that runs the game's x86-64 code with FEXCore. PS4 emulation on a phone is new, and most games will be slow or won't start yet.
What's in it
- shadPS4 with its Vulkan renderer, FEXCore as the CPU, and sound.
- RetroForge pause menu: swipe in from either edge or press Back. It pauses the game and holds shadPS4's own settings: resolution, FSR upscaling and sharpening, frame pacing, FPS counter, volume, touch and motion controls, PS4 Pro mode and GPU readbacks.
- On-screen DualShock 4 (hidden while a controller is connected), or a controller.
- Installs game updates and add-ons (.pkg), and add-on folders picked in RetroForge.
Tested
- Galaxy Tab A9+ (Snapdragon 695): Sonic Mania boots, plays with sound and touch controls, and runs at about 40% speed (timed in Green Hill Zone). Back and swipe open the pause menu, and Quit closes the game cleanly. Loading screens stutter while shaders are built; gameplay looks right.
- Not tested yet on other devices or other games. PS4 emulation needs a fast phone.
You need games dumped from your own PS4. No PS4 firmware, system modules, keys or games are included. Not affiliated with Sony or the shadPS4 team.
