SpiraVR 0.1.0 — First public alpha
SpiraVR brings head-controlled viewing to FINAL FANTASY X HD Remaster through SteamVR, while keeping normal controller gameplay.
Recommended: monoscopic world rendering. Optional depth stereo is off by default because model-edge artifacts remain.
Included
- Portable x86 ReShade addon, pinned OpenVR runtime, and live shader.
- Reversible launcher, normal-play recovery, and live stereo toggle.
- Setup, compatibility, recording, and development guides.
- MIT license and third-party notices.
Requirements
Use the supported FFX.exe hash and an existing compatible Direct3D 11 / ReShade setup with full addon support. This is an early alpha tested on Quest 2 through Steam Link, not a validated clean-install recipe or a full-game compatibility guarantee. FFX-2 and positional tracking are unsupported.
Extract the runtime ZIP outside the game folder. Start SteamVR, close FFX, and run Start-SpiraVR.cmd. Face forward and press F8 with FFX focused. Keep the launcher running until the game exits.
Close the game normally to restore settings. Restore-Normal.cmd recovers an interrupted session. Normal desktop play after restoration has been confirmed by the tester.
Validation
The portable addon compiled, loaded, and reported successful SteamVR submission for both eyes. Recovery restored and hash-verified all 24 original game/mod files on the test PC. Prior headset gameplay checks and remaining limitations are documented separately.
Use SteamVR's single-eye VR View for recordings; see docs/RECORDING.md. No recorded gameplay or game assets are included.
