Version 0.7.0 - Widescreen Patches

Choose a tag to compare

@RuiNelson RuiNelson released this 03 Nov 20:11
  • Widescreen: round 5 no longer has an invisible hole or a strange wood wall past the map's right edge.
  • Widescreen: round 8's holes in the background were corrected both on the start and the end of the level.
  • Widescreen: round 3's boss arena draws the third palm's top.
  • On the PS5, each player's pad light bar shows their character while they play (Axel blue, Adam yellow, Blaze red, white elsewhere).
  • The PS5 on-screen buttons have been redesigned and are now colored.
  • AI: The Mr. X offer is confirmed with Down+B, so a stale NO never confirms YES.

Run Instructions

The apps are not signed, so your system will warn you the first time. It is safe to continue.

macOS

You'll need to remove the quarantine attribute so Gatekeeper allows execution, use my "I Am Sure I Want To Open This App" App or the command line:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Streets of Rage Builder.app"

Open the .dmg, drag Streets of Rage Builder to Applications, run the command above, then open the app.

Windows

  1. Download StreetsOfRageBuilder-0.7.0-windows-x64.exe (or -windows-arm64.exe on ARM PCs such as Snapdragon).
  2. Chrome and Edge may say the file "isn't commonly downloaded" or "could be dangerous". In the downloads list, open the ⋯ menu next to the file and choose Keep, then Keep anyway (in Edge: Keep > Show more > Keep anyway).
  3. Double-click the file. If Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.

Linux

Download the AppImage for your CPU (x86_64 or aarch64), then make it executable and run it:

chmod +x StreetsOfRageBuilder-0.7.0-x86_64.AppImage
./StreetsOfRageBuilder-0.7.0-x86_64.AppImage

Or right-click the file, open Properties > Permissions and tick Allow executing file as program, then double-click it. If it fails with a FUSE error, install libfuse2 (sudo apt install libfuse2; on Ubuntu 24.04 libfuse2t64) or run it with --appimage-extract-and-run.
