@github-actions github-actions released this 04 Nov 05:33

Rustable v0.4.10

  • Fix frozen database windows on Windows by keeping the connection manager available behind them.
  • Show Ctrl-based shortcut labels on Windows and Linux, including toolbar buttons, menus, and hints.
  • Keep Ctrl+C available for copying on Windows/Linux; use Ctrl+Alt+C to toggle SQL activity.
  • Replace connection-test ticks and colored outlines with soft green or red input backgrounds.

The website demo is built from the same release tag.

Rustable v0.4.9

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Nov 17:59

Rustable v0.4.9

  • Fix a PostgreSQL result-stream deadlock involving uncached custom column types.
  • Disable default PostgreSQL statement and lock timeouts; report worker and cancellation failures clearly.
  • Add a PostgreSQL running-query picker for cancellation through the existing SSH tunnel.
  • Use ranked fuzzy matching for SQL completion and sidebar/field filtering.
  • Align SQL editor line numbers with the text baseline.
  • Let Command+A select results after clicking empty grid space.
  • Use “Rustable” for connection-manager and database window titles.

The website demo is built from the same release tag.

Rustable v0.4.8

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Nov 04:31

Rustable v0.4.8

  • Keep arrow-key navigation working after staging a cell edit.
  • Show SQL error highlights only after execution fails, with no live error underlines or warning strip while typing.
  • Keep query failures in a padded, selectable results message instead of repeating them above the editor. Other general errors appear as compact, dismissible notifications.
  • Keep the SQL editor aligned when running queries and displaying results.
  • Give SQL text more breathing room and limit current-query shading to the text on each line.
  • Make Beautify (Command+I) format only the current query or selected text, preserve its starting line, and place the caret at the end.
  • Correct SSH port text alignment and balance the sidebar section spacing.

The website demo is built from the same release tag.

Rustable v0.4.7

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 03 Nov 02:28

Rustable v0.4.7

  • Restore the active OpenGL context before rendering on macOS, fixing a reproduced texture-creation crash when a native callback clears the current context.
  • Drag across cells to select a rectangular range, or drag the row-number gutter to select complete rows. The red outline shows exactly what Command+C copies as plain text, including staged values.
  • Extend the blue row highlight across the full table viewport, including unused space to the right.
  • Correct shifted connection-test validation outlines and checkmarks.
  • Add consistent padding to the indexes view and fill the unused space at its right edge.

The website demo is built from the same release tag. The rendering regression reproduces the reported panic; extended background and sleep/wake testing is still needed to confirm every trigger is covered.

Rustable v0.4.6

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Nov 22:10

Rustable v0.4.6

  • Keep only the first SQL editor per connection/database as the persistent scratchpad. Closing and reopening restores that editor; additional SQL tabs are temporary for the connection session. Older multi-tab snapshots recover only the first editor.
  • Hide horizontal scrollbars in the workspace and result tab strips to prevent the scrollbar appearing/disappearing and shifting the content below. Overflowing tabs remain horizontally scrollable.
  • Faster PostgreSQL change review and saves, particularly over SSH: combine catalog queries and eliminate duplicate metadata reads while preserving transaction, row-conflict and schema-change checks.
  • Single-cell and other row edits no longer refresh the entire database catalog after committing. Structure changes still refresh it.
  • Show immediate preparation feedback in the review window and progress while saving, with cancellation available.
  • Cache native dependencies, pinned language servers and WASM tooling in GitHub Actions to reduce repeat build work.

The website WASM demo is built from this same release tag. The previously reported background OpenGL crash remains unconfirmed; opt-in crash reporting is unchanged.

Rustable v0.4.5

@JaTochNietDan JaTochNietDan released this 02 Nov 20:41

Rustable v0.4.5

  • SQL drafts survive closing their tabs and reconnecting to saved connections. Reopening SQL restores the connection's drafts, and connection windows remember their size.
  • A cleaner connection manager with a first-launch engine picker, more compact forms, and clearer SSH settings. Use SSH config applies across the connection while still allowing explicit host, port, user and key overrides.
  • Encrypted SSH private keys now prompt for their passphrase on macOS/Linux. Passphrases are used for the current connection only and are not saved. This does not add SSH server password authentication or Windows SSH parity.
  • Cleaner Structure, Index and Trigger views with clipped long values, hover details and aligned columns.
  • Correctly padded macOS app icons in both the bundle and running application.
  • Local Rust panic logs and an opt-in prompt on the next launch. Users can review/edit reports before sending them to Rustable's US Sentry project. Reports are never uploaded automatically. Native crashes without a Rust panic still need the operating system crash report.
  • A shorter, product-focused README with development instructions moved into separate documentation.

The reported background OpenGL crash has not yet been reproduced or confirmed fixed; this release adds diagnostics to preserve the original panic if it recurs.

The website WASM demo is built from this same release tag.

Rustable v0.4.4

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Nov 15:51

Rustable v0.4.4

  • Cmd+P ranks exact names and prefixes before word-boundary, substring and fuzzy abbreviation matches. Names rank ahead of metadata; ties stay stable. Searching store now puts stores ahead of campaign_store_property_values.
  • Existing table tabs restore their cached rows, filters, selection and structure view without querying again. Scroll state is independent for relationship tabs. New tabs and explicit refreshes still load from the database.
  • Structure has a cleaner search toolbar and a working Show DDL viewer with scrolling, selectable SQL and copy feedback. MySQL/MariaDB use server-authored definitions; SQLite reads its schema. PostgreSQL reconstructs a structure preview for regular tables and views, including constraints, indexes and triggers. Its preview documents omissions; inherited, partitioned and foreign tables report an explicit limitation.
  • NULL values in the field inspector use muted placeholder styling, including multi-row selections. Literal text NULL remains ordinary text.

The website WASM demo is built from this same release tag.

Rustable v0.4.3

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Nov 05:28

Rustable v0.4.3

Saved server connections now remember passwords automatically in the system credential store when you Save or Connect. The Remember password checkbox has been removed from PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Redis connection forms.

Existing connections adopt this behavior the next time they are saved or connected. Passwords remain outside preferences; secure-store failures still report session-only storage. The website demo is updated from this same release tag.

macOS application menu labels now consistently use Rustable in About, Hide, and Quit, including when launched directly from the executable.

The desktop connection manager no longer reserves an empty toolbar above the connection list. Browser navigation and visible notices remain available.

The connection Save button is disabled until settings or the password change, and disables again after saving.

v0.4.1 and v0.4.2 were unpublished build candidates, superseded by this release.

TablePro import

Import… → From TablePro… now reads plaintext and encrypted .tablepro connection exports. Includes format versions 1 and 2, nested groups, duplicate handling and optional secure-store credential import. Supported engines are PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite and standalone Redis. Unsupported advanced settings are flagged for manual setup. See compatibility details.

Rustable v0.4.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Nov 03:27

Rustable v0.4.0

Connections and navigation

  • Import TablePlus connection exports, including password-protected exports and nested groups. Preview imported profiles and review settings before connecting.
  • Follow declared foreign keys using cell arrows. Each relationship opens a new preview tab with the matching filters applied, including composite keys.
  • Single-click table previews use italic titles. Double-click a table or tab, or edit a value, to keep it open. Relationship navigation preserves the source preview.
  • New connection windows start without an unsolicited SQL tab. The toolbar SQL button opens a fresh editor each time.

Interface improvements

  • Inter typography throughout the UI, with medium controls and semibold headings. SQL and data remain monospaced.
  • Connection search above the list, bottom-anchored management actions, selectable groups with folder icons, indented connections, and clear context-menu selection.
  • Inspector values are directly editable inputs; changes remain staged until Save.
  • Right-aligned numbers, cleaner relationship arrows, compact filter controls, and Copy SQL confirmation.
  • SQL editor footer spacing and consistent Redis row styling.
  • Double-click editing requires both clicks on the same cell.
  • Query history contains user-run queries, excluding automatic table browsing.
  • Studio demo is hidden in production desktop builds and remains available in the website demo and QA builds.

The website WASM demo is updated from this release's exact source tag.

Current limits

TablePlus import supports the connection types and settings documented in
TABLEPLUS_IMPORT.md.
MySQL/MariaDB foreign-key navigation across databases is not yet supported.
Binary and null foreign-key values cannot be followed.

macOS Apple Silicon packages are signed/notarized with Sparkle updates.
Windows/Linux x64 packages use manual updates. Built-in SSH tunnels remain
macOS/Linux only. Native Windows/Linux GUI acceptance and installed old-to-new
Sparkle update acceptance remain unverified.

Rustable v0.3.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Nov 00:31

Rustable v0.3.2

Fixes the macOS Dock icon: startup now explicitly supplies Rustable artwork,
preventing egui from replacing the bundled icon with its default. Local macOS
bundles now include the icon too.

The matching website WASM demo adds an in-memory Redis demo alongside SQLite.
Use Connections → Redis demo to browse sample keys, inspect values, run supported
commands, edit strings and try expiry controls. Switching demos preserves state;
reloading resets it. This is a bounded Redis-compatible demo subset implemented
in Rust/WASM, not a full Redis server. Run INFO for supported commands.

macOS Apple Silicon downloads are signed/notarized and support Sparkle updates.
Windows/Linux x64 packages use manual updates. Platform support and Redis server
capabilities are unchanged from v0.3.1.
