This is an open source and community data collection application solution originally created for a group of health workers in the Himalayan hills around Darjeeling India which is focused on providing affordable field survey capacity to nonprofits worldwide. This team is dedicated to bringing the current iteration of the app to the larger global nonprofit community and is in the process of joining our Open Source Commons program.

Dar will send new meeting invites. Nov 9th - 10am ET/ 8 am MT/ 7am PT/ 4pm CET/ 12am JST

Day 1 - Weds 10/20/21

  • Group 1 - Walk back through the installation instructions for final time for polish and to eliminate any lingering confusion. (no sub breakout rooms so pretty much all doing Group 2)
  • Group 2 Jung- working on getting the new survey fields into the dev org as Metecho was balking at us.
    • Since the group is small, why not try out our new Survey Fields load in our dev orgs and see how it goes.
  • John - demo walking folks through VS Code and any other installs needed for this. (SF Extension Pack) and a tutorial on using VS Code
  • Jung- getting folks set up to test the new survey fields package
  • John guided for walking through the rest of the install up to mobile install to test the install instructions for any more refinement
  • Trish - Color coded the existing User Stories for Home Care for overall usage here
    • Orange = Do we need this?
    • Blue = Can we do this? (ie- nice to have enhancement)
  • Trish- will take the task for making a user persona story so we can put this on the wiki

Day 1 Report Back: What project are you working on?

  • Grassroots Mobile Survey App

What have you accomplished today?

  • Did a walkthrough of the updated instructions and setup flow. We pulled a branch with the new sample surveys for Home Care & Disaster Workers so we can test the new config tomorrow. We also worked on refining user stories for some of the personas.

What are your next steps?

  • Testing the new sample survey config tomorrow and see how they look.

Any other details to share?

  • Great group & lots of collaborative work today!

Day 2 - Thurs 10/22/21

  • For documentation- noted that View All is needed for Contacts, not Read. That would need to be corrected on the instructions.
  • Jung - Leading install of a new version of the force-app package to get the new Survey Fields version into folks’ org
    • John, Hima, Dar for this room
    • John & Hima- working from where they left off yesterday
      • Hitting issues with Android emulator
      • Some permission set/permission adjustments might be needed for folks:
        • System Permissions: Enabled API
        • Custom Metadata Types : add Survey Mobile App Localization
        • Custom Object: Contact ViewAll
  • Trish - would like a second set of eyes on the DR User Stories sheet
    • Rich will assist
    • Melissa as well
    • This group continued to work through the User Stories to dedupe, validate, and sort by use case.
  • Notes on what changes we need are here:
  • Discussion on Record Types for the package
    • Differing views on this - need to check with Shun on the logic behind it.
    • Would like this on next meeting agenda
  • Discussion of to include the sample surveys or not in the package
    • Go very basic to get it through security vs. include the surveys so it’s not such a basic app that requires a ton to get it even to a demo stage.
    • Can link the sample surveys in an unmanaged package

Day 2 Report Back

What project are you working on?

  • Grassroots Mobile Survey App

What have you accomplished today?

  • Worked through User Stories to validate, dedupe and adjust them for the Disaster Relief persona use case. Finished some test installs with the new surveys, worked through runs with updated instructions, tweaked some items on the sample surveys branch. Had a discussion around record type inclusion. * * Discussed what our next steps are for heading to security review with a base package- To Sample Survey or Not To Sample Survey!

What are your next steps?

  • For November's meeting, we'll decide on inclusion of the sample surveys vs. not. We also need to document Heroku MFA steps and start looking at final field names.

Any other details to share?

  • Great group and making progress toward security review!
