First public beta of Yu-Gi-Oh! Assistant — an MCP server + CLI that gives AI agents a tournament-grade judge, deck builder and market analyst.

What works

  • Rulings from the engine: parses the ProjectIgnis c<passcode>.lua script (HOPT/SOPT, cost vs effect, targeting, miss timing, negate activation vs effect) and can run the interaction on ocgcore-wasm for a verdict with rulebook/PSCT citations.
  • Rulebook and judge corpus: verbatim Konami text with printed page numbers.
  • Decks: parse .ydk/ydke://, legality across TCG/OCG/AE/Genesys/Master Duel, meta building, consistency lab, locks, matchup planning, cost, and a section-by-section diff.
  • Community content: decks with page links from YGOPRODeck, Master Duel Meta, Konami and Format Library; published combos and counters.
  • Market: rank the whole pool by price/demand/measured movement, explain drivers, and per-printing prices by rarity and language.
  • Paperwork: Konami KDE decklist PDF and Neuron-style deck PNG.
  • Custom cards: temp IDs, generated Lua, SVG mockup, migration to the official passcode.

54 tools, documented in docs/TOOLS.md (generated from one array).

Install

npx -y yugioh-assistant-mcp@0.9.4 setup

Then restart your MCP client. Requires Node 24+ (the duel engine needs WebAssembly JSPI).

Notes for this build

  • Renamed to yugioh-assistant-mcp. The package, repository, MCP registry name and skill use the new name; the CLI command is still ygo.
  • 0.9.4 is the first published build. The old yugioh-assistant package is deprecated in favour of yugioh-assistant-mcp.
  • Konami's deck-list form is not bundled: ygo fetch-data downloads it on demand, or YGO_KDE_TEMPLATE points at a local copy.
  • Test fixtures are synthetic — no captured third-party pages, usernames or personal data.
  • Cleanup: removed a committed Python bytecode cache and an English duplicate of the tool catalogue; the single generated catalogue is docs/TOOLS.md.
  • npm tarball: about 370 kB, 123 files. It ships only the files the server and CLI need at runtime.

Known limits

  • Beta: bugs are expected and the tool surface may change.
  • Price feeds cover EN/JP/AE only; KR and other languages return price: null.
  • Combo/counter corpora are capped at the 300 newest public entries.
  • Community decks are not legal proof — run ygo_check_legality.
  • Rulings are advisory; the head judge decides.

License

Code: AGPL-3.0-only. Third-party material (the downloaded Konami form, ProjectIgnis procedure libraries, trademarks) is excluded and listed in NOTICE. Full terms: docs/LEGAL.md.

Built almost entirely by AI agents under human supervision and testing. AI answers are not guaranteed to be correct — verify before relying on them.
