ORIX 0.1.0-beta.3 — Windows Codex monitoring fix
Windows Codex monitoring repair
Download ORIX Setup for Windows
Windows 10/11 x64. Free and open source. This beta is unsigned while SignPath enrollment is pending, so Windows may display an unknown-publisher warning.
Changes
- Quoted the Codex hook stdin argument for Windows PowerShell.
- Serialized lifecycle callbacks to preserve their order and deliver completion before session shutdown cancels background work.
- Upgraded older ORIX hook definitions automatically while preserving unrelated hooks.
Review new or changed Codex hook definitions through /hooks before relying on monitoring.
Validation
- All 234 workspace tests passed, including four hook regression cases.
- Fresh isolated installation succeeded and all 193 installed files matched staging.
- All 11 native EXE/DLL files matched the reviewed beta.2 payload.
- The installed runtime returned the expected live reply. The monitor received ordered lifecycle events, displayed Ready → Working → Done, saved completed history and delivered a Windows notification show event.
- Legacy hook migration and profile-note retention passed in the installed app.
- Beta.2 isolated removal and reinstallation preserved the note and removed only the verified installation and its two redirected shortcuts.
Live checks used an existing account and reviewed session-scoped ORIX hook definitions. Fresh Claude and ORIX ChatGPT replies remain pending sign-in. Actual Windows login, native file drag/drop, other system DPI settings, Windows high contrast and a screen reader remain open. A full FFmpeg source rebuild was not performed. Full validation record
Downloads
Use the setup EXE for installation or the portable ZIP. The third-party source ZIP contains pinned FFmpeg and Electron/Chromium source/build materials, licenses and replacement guidance. The 60-second demo is also embedded in the repository README. SHA256SUMS.txt covers the four downloadable payloads.
ORIX 0.1.0-beta.2 — Windows beta
Known beta.2 Codex monitoring issue
Windows PowerShell rejects the original hook stdin argument, and an asynchronous completion callback can be lost at CLI shutdown. The source fix and three regressions are published in a12cf68. The downloads below retain the original beta.2 commands. Download beta.3 with the tested fix. Validation details

Set up
Open the installer, then open ORIX Settings from the tray or Start menu. Pick your tools in Modules and connect the services you use. Theme controls are in Settings → General.
The desktop-layer OFF switch hides the layer while enabled tools keep running. Clipboard history is enabled by default, keeps eight text entries in memory, and can be disabled in Modules. Optional AI providers and Spotify use their own account and service terms. Privacy and controls
In this beta
- Refreshed repository artwork, inline demo, animated preview and expandable README guides.
- Installer upgrade guard handles Windows short paths correctly.
- Packaged Codex keeps its text runtime and helpers while excluding unused real-time voice components.
- FFmpeg source/build material and license texts accompany the release. The package uses Windows' system D3DCompiler.
- Local verification passed 230 tests. A fresh isolated install matched all 193 staged files. Text app-server initialization, account-state reading and thread creation passed with the voice payload absent. A modified compatible FFmpeg DLL decoded audio in a separate Electron check.
- The hosted Windows build passed all 230 tests and built ZIP/setup from this release's source commit.
Beta status
This Windows beta is unsigned. SignPath Foundation enrollment and certificate issuance are pending, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. Code signing policy
Physical drag/drop, actual-login startup, system DPI combinations and screen-reader checks remain in the validation ledger. A fresh live AI response and a full FFmpeg source rebuild were not performed for this package change. Release evidence
ORIX is ISC-licensed, with third-party components retaining their own licenses and notices. Third-party credits
ORIX 0.1.0-beta.1 — source preview
ORIX is a free, ISC-licensed desktop layer for Windows with AI session status, notes, clipboard history, focus tools and optional Spotify controls.
This first public preview distributes the reviewed source through GitHub's ZIP and tar.gz source archives. Windows installer and portable downloads are pending native-component redistribution review and signing setup.
The tested source revision is a2ad065a61eeadb9bc2c70b15d84f3dbf12df84b.
Build and validation
The hosted Windows run passed all 228 tests and built the Windows ZIP and setup executable with Node.js 22. Source publication checks included JavaScript syntax, Gitleaks scanning, retained asset licenses and matching extension source/VSIX contents. Build instructions are in the repository README.
The installer now detects a running application launched through a Windows short path. The editor concurrency test uses the same path-resolution API as production.
Code signing policy
Read the Code signing policy, privacy policy and release checklist. SignPath Foundation acceptance and a Windows binary release remain pending. This source preview does not itself satisfy the Foundation's requirement for an existing release in the Windows binary form to be signed.
Remaining binary-release work includes native-library source/replacement obligations, Microsoft runtime redistribution eligibility, signing and the outstanding Windows checks recorded in the release checklist.
