Metis 1.4
A research companion for Claude: persistent memory of your work, 33 specialists,
and a research dashboard.
Windows
Download MetisSetup-1.4.exe below and run it. No administrator
rights, no Python and no WSL needed — setup fetches what it needs. Choose a full
install (assistant + dashboard) or the assistant only. Setup can load a fictional
sample workspace and opens a short tour.
Windows SmartScreen may warn that the installer is from an unknown publisher (it is
not code-signed yet): choose More info → Run anyway.
Already have Metis? Run the new setup over it: it skips the questions and keeps
your profile, library and projects. From 1.3 on you can also say "update Metis"
in Claude Desktop.
What setup checks and looks after
- Works on institutional laptops: a Documents folder inside OneDrive, a proxy,
networks that inspect secure connections, Windows on ARM. If your organisation's
policy blocks setup, the first page says so in words you can take to IT. - Connects Metis to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, VS Code and Cursor — whichever you
have — without touching your other connectors. - An install doctor checks everything Metis needs (your computer, its programs,
each AI app, the dashboard, the background tasks, your data) every day and repairs
what it can. Run it any time from the dashboard's Metis tab, or say "check that
everything works" to Metis. - The dashboard starts quietly when you log on, so the morning news and paper scans
run. A morning briefing can arrive every working day through Claude Desktop's
scheduled tasks (paid Claude plans) — Metis walks you through setting it up. - If setup cannot finish, it says so and where the details are, instead of
finishing as if all were well.
Linux and macOS
git clone https://github.com/SVerITG/Metis
bash Metis/system/mcp-server/setup-mcp.shYou need
- Windows 10 (1809) or later, or a recent Linux / macOS
- Claude Desktop or Claude Code, with a Claude account
- An Anthropic API key is optional — it only powers background features such as
the automatic morning brief, and is paid separately
Your files and database stay on your computer; what you ask Claude is processed by
Anthropic's Claude service.
