Sequentia Nexus 0.48.0 (beta)
What's new
- Read DVD and Blu-ray: a new step turns
.isofiles,VIDEO_TS/BDMVfolders and the disc in a drive of the PC into MKV files, without re-encoding, with the languages and chapters of the disc. Before the start you see the titles of every disc: the main film, or the episodes of a series, are proposed (decoy playlists, trailers and duplicates are left out) and you can change titles and names. Episodes are namedShow - S02E01 - Episode title, with the titles from TVmaze. The other steps then work on these files together with the other videos of the folder. Only discs without protection are read. - 3D → 2D in Encode video + mux: a 3D video (side by side or top and bottom) is recognised from its flag, its name and above all its picture, and comes out in 2D; a Blu-ray 3D gives the film in 2D.
- Small fixes and visual improvements.
Install
Download SequentiaNexus-0.48.0-windows.zip, unpack it (over the old folder to update: your settings, presets, queue and license stay), run SequentiaNexus.exe. Free beta key: sequentianexus.com/beta.
Sequentia Nexus 0.46.0 (beta)
What's new
- The guide is now inside the program, in 11 languages. Help → Documentation (or F1) opens it in its own window, in the language of the program: chapters on the left (they open on their sections), the text on the right, a search box, and the usual buttons to maximise the window. The text is kept up to date from sequentianexus.com, even without a new version of the program, and a copy inside the program works without internet.
- The same guide is on the site: sequentianexus.com/guide, in English, Italiano, Français, Deutsch, Español, Português (Portugal), Português (Brasil), Română, Русский, Türkçe and 简体中文.
The translations are new: if you find a mistake, please open an issue.
Install
Download SequentiaNexus-0.46.0-windows.zip, unpack it (over the old folder to update: your settings, presets, queue and license stay), run SequentiaNexus.exe. Free beta key: sequentianexus.com/beta.
Sequentia Nexus 0.45.0 (beta)
What's new in 0.45
- Update notice: from this version on, the program tells you when a newer version is out (at start, at most once every 6 hours; only the version number is read, nothing about you is sent). Download saves the zip in your Downloads folder with a progress bar; Skip this version and Later are there too. Nothing installs by itself. You can turn it off, or check now, in Preferences → Updates.
- Help → Documentation opens the user guide.
Also in 0.44: the queue (several workflows with their own folders, one after the other) and Hibernate when done. In 0.43: maximum resolution, constant quality (CRF) and two passes for the CPU encoders. In 0.42: HDR videos kept in H.265 10 bit or converted to SDR.
Updating from an earlier version: unpack the new zip in place of the old one, your settings and license stay.
Get started
- Download
SequentiaNexus-0.45.0-windows.zipbelow and unpack it in a folder of your choice. - Double-click
SequentiaNexus.exe. The program is not signed yet: if Windows shows Windows protected your PC, click More info → Run anyway. - The first time, the System Requirements window installs FFmpeg and MKVToolNix for you.
- Get your free beta key at sequentianexus.com/beta, then open Preferences → License, paste it and press Activate.
An internet connection is needed to start a workflow (the license is checked at every start); a workflow that is already running always finishes. One key works on one PC at a time.
The full guide is in docs/HOW_TO_USE.md.
Requirements
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). An NVIDIA video card is optional (NVENC encoding); the CPU encoders work everywhere.
Feedback
Bugs and ideas are welcome in the Issues. Issues are public: never post your license key, and remove from the log the address, port and user name of your server.
By using the program you accept the beta terms. Third-party components and their licenses are listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt inside the zip.
Sequentia Nexus 0.44.0 (beta)
What's new in 0.44
- Queue: several workflows, each with its own folders, run one after the other (for example a TV series with one preset, then a film in another folder with another preset). The checks of every job are done when the queue starts, so all the questions come at once and then it runs unattended. Drag to reorder, change the folders of a job, run a job again, open the log of each job, save and open queue files. A job with errors does not stop the others; When done and the notifications come once, at the end of the queue.
- Hibernate is now one of the When done actions, next to Sleep and Shut down.
Also in 0.43: maximum resolution, constant quality (CRF) and two passes for the CPU encoders. In 0.42: HDR videos kept in H.265 10 bit or converted to SDR. In 0.41: encode preview with size, time and quality (VMAF).
Updating from an earlier version: unpack the new zip in place of the old one, your settings and license stay.

Sequentia Nexus 0.43.0 (beta)
What's new in 0.43
- Maximum resolution in Encode video + mux: 2160p, 1440p, 1080p, 720p, 576p or 480p. Bigger videos are shrunk keeping their shape (a 4K film of 3840x1600 becomes 1920x800 at 1080p), smaller ones are never enlarged. With an NVIDIA card the resize runs on the card when possible: faster, and the CPU stays free.
- Constant quality (CRF) for the CPU encoders (x264, x265), with an automatic value by resolution.
- Two passes for x264 and x265 with a bitrate (on by default, the first pass is fast): better quality at the same size, and the final bitrate is the one you chose.
Also in 0.42: HDR videos kept in H.265 10 bit or converted to SDR with natural colours. In 0.41: encode preview with size, time and quality (VMAF). In 0.40: more audio languages with their subtitles. In 0.39: automatic deinterlacing, black bars crop and noise reduction.

Sequentia Nexus 0.42.0 (beta)
What's new in 0.42
- HDR videos (HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision): Encode video + mux recognises them by itself. In H.265 10 bit the HDR is kept, with its brightness data, for HDR TVs; in H.264 (or 8 bit) the video is converted to SDR with natural colours, instead of coming out pale and grey. A new HDR option can also convert to SDR always. The conversion runs on the video card (or on the CPU where it cannot). Burned subtitles in an HDR video are kept at a comfortable brightness.
Also in 0.41: encode preview with size, time and quality (VMAF). In 0.40: more audio languages with their subtitles. In 0.39: automatic deinterlacing, black bars crop and noise reduction. In 0.38: pause and resume, time left and speed, sleep or shut down the PC when done, low priority.
Updating from an earlier version: unpack the new zip in place of the old one, your settings and license stay.

Sequentia Nexus 0.41.0 (beta)
What's new in 0.41
- Encode preview: in Encode video + mux press Encode preview..., choose a video and a piece of 10, 30 or 60 seconds: it is encoded with your settings, and you see the size and the time expected for the whole video and the quality (VMAF, "like the original" from 95). Open preview plays it; Compare a frame switches between the original and the encode at real size. Handy to choose the bitrate before starting a whole series.
Also in 0.40: more audio languages (the original one next to the dubbed one) with their subtitles. In 0.39: automatic deinterlacing, black bars crop and noise reduction. In 0.38: pause and resume, time left and speed, sleep or shut down the PC when done, low priority.

Sequentia Nexus 0.40.0 (beta)
What's new in 0.40
- More audio languages in the same file, for example the original language next to the dubbed one. In Extract audio and subtitles add them with Extra audio languages; the entry Original language finds it by itself in each video. The main language stays the first track and the one on by default; commentaries are left out.
- Optionally their subtitles too, as they are, after the others and never on by default.
- Convert audio converts the extra tracks like the main one, or copies them as they are (DTS, TrueHD...).
Also in 0.39: automatic deinterlacing, black bars crop and noise reduction in Encode video + mux. In 0.38: pause and resume, time left and speed, sleep or shut down the PC when done, low priority.

Sequentia Nexus 0.39.0 (beta)
What's new in 0.39
Encode video + mux now prepares the picture before the encode. It looks at a few seconds in six points of every video, and the log says what it found and did.
- Automatic deinterlacing (on by default): a progressive video is left as it is, even a film on PAL DVD that says "interlaced"; an interlaced video gets only its combed frames fixed; an NTSC film with telecine gets its original frames back, at 23.976 fps.
- Crop the black bars (off by default): only what is black in every point checked is removed, so dark scenes never lose picture, e.g.
1920x1080 -> 1920x800. A burned SRT or ASS subtitle is drawn inside the cropped picture. - Noise reduction (off by default): Light, Medium or Strong, for old grainy DVDs.
Also in 0.38: pause and resume, time left and speed in the progress bar, sleep or shut down the PC when done, low priority for the workflow.
Updating from an earlier version: unpack the new zip in place of the old one, your settings and license stay.

Sequentia Nexus 0.38.1 (beta)
What's new in 0.38
- Pause and resume a running workflow (❚❚ Pause next to Stop): everything that is working stops where it is, uses no CPU, and goes on from the same point. The pause does not count in the times.
- Time left and speed in the progress bar:
Encode video + mux 45% · total 69% · 245 fps · 12 min left. - When done: sleep or shut down the PC, from the menu next to the progress bar, with a 60-second countdown you can cancel. If the workflow ended with errors, its log is kept and shown again when you come back.
- The PC no longer goes to sleep by itself while a workflow runs (the screen can still turn off).
- Low priority for the workflow (new page Preferences → Performance): the PC stays responsive while it encodes, at the same speed when it is free.
- Only one Sequentia Nexus window at a time: starting it again brings the open one to the front.
- Small fixes and visual improvements.
Updating from an earlier version: unpack the new zip in place of the old one, your settings and license stay.
