Release list
TrackpadProMax 0.1.0
The first public release of TrackpadProMax. It turns the MacBook Force Touch trackpad into a pressure-sensitive, programmable input surface with haptic feedback.
Highlights
- Pressure gestures: light, medium and hard presses, 1–4 finger taps, corner and edge zones bound to shortcuts, clicks, apps, Shortcuts or AppleScript. A hard press never also clicks the button under the pointer.
- Mode wheel: four-finger double tap opens a radial wheel. Slide to pick with a haptic tick per step, tap to switch. Normal opens a sub-wheel of your gesture modes.
- Control surface: slide along the trackpad's edges to set volume, display brightness and keyboard backlight with haptic detents. Hard-press the volume bar to pick and switch audio outputs (AirPods, Bluetooth speakers…).
- Media surface: now playing, scrub along the bottom edge, swipe for tracks.
- Window tiling: split the screen into 2, 3 or 4 windows without the cursor. Pick a split, drag the dividers, drag apps into place.
- App launcher and Quick Settings (Dark Mode, Night Shift, Keep Awake, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mute, Mic Off, Lock Screen).
- Gesture Discovery HUD and a live pressure visualizer.

Install
- Download
TrackpadProMax-0.1.0.zip. It is a universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 15 or later. - Unzip it and move TrackpadProMax.app to
/Applications. - The app is not notarized yet. Open it once, then choose System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway (or run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/TrackpadProMax.app). - Grant Accessibility when asked. It is needed for shortcuts, clicks and window tiling.
Good to know
- Uses Apple's private MultitouchSupport framework for raw pressure data, so it is distributed here rather than on the App Store.
- macOS asks once for Automation (Music/Spotify info, Dark Mode) and Bluetooth (Quick Settings toggle).
- Window tiling turns Stage Manager off, because Stage Manager keeps only one app on stage.
- Tested on a MacBook Air M4 with macOS 27. Reports from other Macs and Magic Trackpads are very welcome.
