Appause v0.5.49 is a free public beta for Android 8.0 and later.

Install Appause-v0.5.49.apk over your existing installation. Do not uninstall first: uninstalling removes local groups and statistics.

What's changed

  • Fixed the pause screen briefly appearing again after pressing Home or Recents, particularly when the target app was removed from Recents and then reopened from its launcher icon.
  • Confirmed system navigation now uses the same bounded exit protection as Cancel. A genuine quick reopen still starts a new pause.
  • Captured accessibility event timestamps before asynchronous work, so recycled events cannot change navigation decisions.
  • No new permissions, dependencies or data collection.

Verification

  • Debug and Release builds; 307 unit tests in each variant; lintDebug and lintRelease with 0 errors.
  • The original Home and Recents regression was reproduced on a Xiaomi HyperOS phone running Android 16 using the actual remove-from-Recents / launcher-icon sequence. Continuous recordings of the fixed build showed no duplicate pause; Back, Cancel and genuine quick reopen were also checked.
  • The device-tested fix was unchanged when preparing this versioned APK. The phone's wireless debugging connection was unavailable for a final v0.5.49 installation check.
  • Not retested for this release: fresh-install onboarding, the full 3-minute leave cycle, temporary-pass expiry, or other physical devices/ROMs.

China mirror: Lanzou, password 1234. The mirror lists Appause-v0.5.49.apk (11.7 MiB); its displayed filename and size were checked. The SHA-256 above was verified against the public GitHub download.

Post-release device checks — 2026-11-03–04

The original release-time verification record above is preserved. These later checks used the same signed v0.5.49 / versionCode 101 APK (SHA-256 unchanged), installed through ADB on cloud-hosted physical devices.

Both sessions covered fresh-install onboarding, enabling accessibility, the pause screen, Cancel returning home, Continue opening the target app, interception on reopening, and opening a recommended app. Screenshots, device-state snapshots, and local logs were retained. Log review found no app crashes, Appause ANRs, or explicit overlay-add failures during these sessions. Runtime warnings were present; this is not a claim of error-free operation.

The Samsung session worked without a battery exemption or Display over other apps permission. This does not establish long-term background reliability. Browser/file-manager sideloading and its restricted-settings prompts, screen-off behavior, reboot recovery, extended background operation, the full 3-minute leave cycle, temporary-pass expiry, and trial expiry remain unverified by these sessions. Other models and ROMs are not covered.

修复了将目标应用从最近任务中划掉、再从桌面重新打开后，按系统主页键或最近任务键时，暂停页短暂重复弹出的问题。主动重新打开应用仍会正常拦截，返回键和取消操作也已复测。本次没有新增权限、依赖或数据收集。

下载下方 Appause-v0.5.49.apk 直接覆盖安装，不要先卸载，以免清除本机分组和统计。

蓝奏云镜像已同步，密码 1234，请选择 Appause-v0.5.49.apk。已核对镜像显示的文件名和大小；SHA-256 已通过 GitHub 公开下载复核。

发版后真机补测 — 2026-11-03–04

保留上方原始发版验证记录。本次使用同一份 v0.5.49 / versionCode 101 签名 APK，SHA-256 未变，通过 ADB 安装到云端真实设备。

  • 三星 Galaxy S24 / 安卓 14（11 月 3 日）：人工核心流程通过；另确认七天试用激活成功。
  • Google Pixel 9 / 安卓 16（11 月 4 日）：人工核心流程通过；关闭无障碍后正确显示恢复权限提示。

两轮覆盖首次安装引导、开启无障碍、暂停拦截、取消返回桌面、Continue 进入目标应用、重新打开时拦截和推荐应用跳转。已留存截图、设备状态快照及本地日志。日志审阅未发现应用崩溃、Appause ANR 或明确的覆盖层添加失败；存在运行时警告，不代表完全无错误。

三星这轮未开启电池优化豁免和「显示在其他应用上方」也能完成核心操作，但不能证明长期后台稳定。两轮尚未验证浏览器/文件管理器侧载及受限设置提示、熄屏、重启恢复、长期后台、完整三分钟离开周期、临时通行到期或试用到期，也不代表其他型号和系统均兼容。
