@Shubham0743X Shubham0743X released this 28 Oct 09:25

Svara 1.3.0 is the lyrics-and-polish release: the lyrics panel now has three sources you can switch between, and the Up next queue can be rearranged by hand.

Downloads — same app, two shapes:

File Size What it gives you
Installer (recommended) Svara-Setup-1.3.0.exe 128 MB Start Menu entry, desktop shortcut, a real uninstaller
Portable Svara.1.3.0.exe 114 MB one file, nothing to install

Both are unsigned, so the first launch may show SmartScreen's "Windows protected your PC" — click More info → Run anyway.

New in 1.3.0

  • Three lyrics sources. A small pill row above the lyrics decides how they are fetched: Auto (default) takes the best line-synced match and falls back to full plain text, LRCLIB uses synced lyrics only, and YouTube Music always shows the original script.
  • A synced pool behind the highlighting. LRCLIB is tried first, with Better Lyrics and LyricsPlus as backups. A file is only accepted when its title and artist match and its length agrees with the recording, and among valid matches the one whose first lyric starts earliest wins — so intro lines stay intact instead of the panel sitting blank while the song opens.
  • Reorder the Up next queue. Drag any song to a new spot, above or below the now-playing track — including songs that have already played, which come back into rotation. The list scrolls itself while you hold a song at the top or bottom, and rows animate into place instead of jumping.
  • The queue starts locked. Every launch begins locked; unlock it with the padlock when you want to rearrange.
  • Remove a track from a playlist from its row menu.
  • Reset app in Settings restarts Svara with its defaults.
  • Lyrics are prefetched for the current and the next track, so the Lyrics tab paints instantly on every change.

Fixed in 1.3.0

  • Unsynced and mistimed lyrics. Providers that returned plain text, files that started unusually late, and unusual timestamp shapes (00:01:37.290 ~ 00:01:39.770 words) are now normalised or filtered, so the lyrics tab shows lines instead of raw timestamps.
  • A stream error no longer stops the music — Svara reconnects, and skips to the next track if it can't.
  • The dark line at the top-left while scrolling is gone, along with the hard cut under the search bar — the blur now fades across the app.
  • Carousel arrows match the rest of the UI, sit at the row's true centre, fade in on hover, and snap the row to the nearest card edge when scrolling stops.
  • Smaller fixes: Add to queue no longer appears for a song that is already queued, import and export carry liked albums correctly, and Clear closes the Up next panel with the same animation as the rest of the player.

Your library carries over

Liked songs, liked albums, playlists, listening history, the theme, the graphics level and the text size live in %APPDATA%\Svara, so installing or updating Svara never touches them — and the portable build reads the same folder. Just don't run the installed and portable copies at once; they share port 3000.

Svara 1.2.0 - Windows player, now with an installer

@Shubham0743X Shubham0743X released this 16 Oct 12:02

Svara 1.2.0 is the biggest update so far, and the first release you can install like any other Windows app.

Downloads — same app, two shapes:

File Size What it gives you
Installer (recommended) Svara-Setup-1.2.0.exe 128 MB Start Menu entry, desktop shortcut, a real uninstaller
Portable Svara.1.2.0.exe 114 MB one file, nothing to install

Both are unsigned, so the first launch may show SmartScreen's "Windows protected your PC" — click More info → Run anyway.

New in 1.2.0

  • First-run personalisation. Rather than dropping you into a stranger's Home page, Svara asks what you like and builds the page around it. Those onboarding rows decay on a 14/21-day clock and reset as you play them.
  • A Home page built from real data. Trending songs as wide feature cards, discovery rows that outlive your first play, category shelves, six-cover carousels, and Quick picks as four rows — with a real Quick picks page behind Show more.
  • Movement that explains itself. Pages slide the way you are travelling (forward from the left, back from the right, artist to artist too), the player panel slides between Up next and Lyrics, and leaving fullscreen lyrics cross-dissolves instead of flashing blank.
  • A Windows installer. Adds Svara to the Start Menu with an optional desktop shortcut and a real uninstaller, so it updates and leaves like any other app.

Fixed in 1.2.0

  • Lyrics have to match the recording. Timings must agree with the track's length and cover it, so a longer re-upload no longer inherits a shorter recording's timings — it is shown unhighlighted, with the reason, instead.
  • Artist pages resolve properly. A name-only credit reaches the real entity (Honey Singh → Yo Yo Honey Singh), and an artist with no catalogue says so rather than rendering a blank page.
  • Artwork loads more reliably — the right size is requested per surface, and artwork that failed once is fetched through the proxy from then on.
  • An album can be liked from its cover or its hero, a Like no longer resets your scroll position, and the unlike glyph stays legible at icon size.
  • No flash of Home before the first-run gate, and no stale row left above the Back button while an artist page loads.
