v1.2.0
Limusic 1.2. Bring your playlists over from Spotify, decide exactly what gets scrobbled to Last.fm, and try a new player view. Settings ▸ Appearance is rebuilt around a live preview, and Limusic now speaks eighteen languages. Thanks to everyone who ran the release candidates and reported back.
New features
- Import from Spotify (experimental): bring in a playlist from a link, your Spotify data export, or a CSV from Exportify, TuneMyMusic or Soundiiz, as a YouTube Music playlist or a local one. Songs it isn't sure about are shown for a second look before anything is created, and a playlist imported from a link can be updated from Spotify later. Thanks to @Tomjerri1 for the request and a first version. (#375)
- Scrobbling settings: a new tab in Settings for Last.fm. Choose how much of a song has to play before it counts, turn scrobbling off without disconnecting, clean up titles with rules (presets for video tags, "Remastered", " - Topic" and VEVO), and fix a single song with Edit scrobble in its menu. Edits and rules from Pano Scrobbler and Web Scrobbler can be imported, and a preview shows what will be sent. (#327, #404)
- A new player view: the title, artists and album sit under the artwork, the queue and lyrics get a full-height column, and the whole view is lit by the cover's colours. Off by default, turn on New player layout in Settings ▸ Appearance.
- Appearance, rebuilt: pick a theme from a row of chips and see every change in a live preview first. Choose Light, Dark or System, pick an accent from swatches or your own colour, and reset any single setting. Dragging the background tint slider no longer stutters.
- Subscriptions under Library ▸ Artists: a second tab with the artists you subscribe to, like YouTube Music has. Removing one from your library unsubscribes.
- Ctrl+Q (Cmd+Q on macOS) quits Limusic, and letter shortcuts work on any keyboard layout, Cyrillic included. Thanks @Tomjerri1. (#175)
- Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Tamil, German, Italian and Japanese are in the language picker. On a Chinese system Limusic picks Simplified or Traditional by region.
Improvements
- The Discord card keeps up when you skip through songs quickly and refreshes while a song plays, so it no longer goes stale. Thanks @Tomjerri1. (#400)
- Updated Russian, Ukrainian, Traditional Chinese, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Turkish, Korean, Indonesian, Japanese, Romanian and German translations.
Bug fixes
- The first song after launch no longer fails with "mpv: Raw(-4)" on the AppImage and on other installs with an older mpv. (#384)
- The first songs after launch start faster again. A change on YouTube's side had Limusic repeating a playback check up to eight times.
- Album and artist menus know what's already in your library, from the first menu you open. (#364)
- On Linux, crossfade no longer adds a second stream to the system volume mixer, and Limusic's stream is called Limusic. (#409)
- On Linux, the sidebar's scrollbar no longer blinks while the pointer moves over your playlists. (#420)
- Opening settings from the lyrics source picker no longer cuts the settings window off. (#406)
- Dialogs no longer get cut off on the right with a wide custom font.
- Removing an artist from your library no longer fails.
- A long queue (over 200 songs) scrolls all the way to the end, and the "Now playing" button no longer covers the last song. (#380)
- Songs from an artist's Top songs keep their album, and songs started from Home or Search now pass theirs to Pano Scrobbler and other desktop scrobblers too. (#377)
- The queue and lyrics panels come back when you leave the player view, instead of staying closed. (#365)
- With "Adapt colors to artwork" on, switching between light and dark mode no longer keeps the other mode's accent, and AMOLED keeps readable text in light mode.
- Windows: music videos stay in sync with the music after you resize the window or change display scaling. Thanks @TeseySTD. (#391)
- macOS: the window buttons sit centred in the title bar. (#189)

macOS: the app is signed ad-hoc, so Gatekeeper says it "is damaged". Clear it with xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/limusic.app.
On Linux only the AppImage self-updates. The .rpm is a normal package, so rpm users install a new rpm.
