@github-actions github-actions released this 28 Oct 13:11

The Silent Hill Online living world server, for anyone who wants to run their own: outlines, markers, messages and the room list. Rebuilt here whenever the server changes, so these files are always current.

Newest server: faac046ac, 2026-11-04 19:18 UTC, protocol v1

  • SHOnline-server.zip: everything below plus the scripts. Unzip it, fill in server.txt, then double-click Redeploy-Server.bat to install or update the server on a Linux machine over ssh, Server-Console.bat for its admin console (players, kick, ban, prune, say), or Start-Server.bat to run it on this Windows PC. Full instructions in the zip's README, also here.
  • sh_master-linux-x64, sh_master-linux-arm64: the server for Linux, static, no dependencies.
  • sh_master.exe: the server for Windows.
  • install-server.sh: run it on the Linux machine itself if you are not on Windows (sudo bash install-server.sh --args '-n "Fog"').

Players reach your server by typing its address as the Living World IP in the Multiplayer menu. It takes 512 players by default (--max, up to 1024). Updating it drops the co-op rooms in progress, so pick a quiet hour; the game only has to match the server when the protocol version above changes.
