v0.2.0

@issmirnov issmirnov released this 06 Nov 23:37

The browser channel now works on the first call, and checkout installs can run one shared hypr-cua per desktop login.

Browser channel:

  • The cdp_* tools no longer fail with 403. The WebSocket sends no Origin header now, and some Chrome versions rejected the default one.
  • When nothing answers on port 9222, hypr-cua starts a private headless Chrome and stops it after 10 idle minutes. Set HYPR_CUA_CDP_AUTOLAUNCH=0 to turn that off.
  • cdp_open and cdp_navigate wait for the page to load, and for an optional wait_for selector, within a timeout of 1 to 300 s. A page still loading at the deadline returns timed_out: true instead of an error.
  • cdp_eval takes a timeout, and cdp_read takes a selector and max_chars.
  • The new cdp_screenshot captures a tab's viewport.

Text results are now compact JSON sent as plain text. That is about 17% smaller than the escaped JSON inside {"result": ...} that 0.1.2 sent.

Shared server, for checkout installs:

  • hypr-cua-mcp --serve runs one server per login behind a systemd socket. bin/hypr-cua-mcp connects to it in about 20 ms, and a session then costs about 17 MB instead of about 94 MB. The README's "One shared server per login" section has the setup.
  • Each session keeps its own screenshot frames. One lock keeps two sessions' clicks and typing from interleaving.
  • Claude Code sessions reconnect by themselves after the service restarts.

Pointer actions now read the monitor layout every time, so a monitor hotplug no longer skews later clicks.

uvx hypr-cua-mcp still starts one stdio server per session, as before.

v0.1.2

@issmirnov issmirnov released this 17 Oct 17:03

The repo is now public. This release brings the PyPI page and the MCP registry listing up to date with it.

  • Fix: the server now reports its real version in the MCP handshake. Version 0.1.1 still reported 0.1.0.

  • Docs: the README is rewritten. It covers:

    • requirements (the window-control tools need a Lua-configured Hyprland, 0.55+)
    • a udev rule for /dev/uinput access
    • config for Claude Code, mcpServers JSON clients and Codex
    • the complete tool list, the browser-channel settings, and known limitations

    New SECURITY.md and CONTRIBUTING.md files.

  • Packaging: PyPI now links to the repo and the issue tracker. The classifiers list Python 3.11 to 3.14, and CI tests all four.

  • Registry: server.json gains a display title and a link to the setup requirements.

The version fix is the only change in behavior.
