Cursor RE 3.24.18-re.4
Cursor RE for macOS (Apple silicon), built from 1a6993a3.
Based on Cursor 3.24.18 (commit be4c9e53), VS Code 1.128.0, Electron 42.10.0. Local mode is on: add your own OpenAI / Anthropic compatible endpoints under Settings > Models > Custom Providers; no Cursor account needed.
What's new
- IDE window: everything local mode does in the agent window now works in the IDE too: Custom Providers and Subscriptions (Cursor Settings > Models), the model picker and local turns in the agent panel, thinking and turn stats, the Usage page (Cursor Settings > Usage), local sign-in and the Marketplace (Cursor Settings > Customize > Browse Marketplace). Both windows share providers, the selected model, chats and usage.
- Fix: "Invalid 'input[n].call_id': string too long" when a chat that ran on a Subscriptions model (Codex) continued on a custom provider. Overlong tool call ids are now shortened, consistently, for custom providers.
Install
- Unzip and move Cursor RE.app to /Applications.
- The app is signed ad-hoc (not notarized), so clear the download quarantine once:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Cursor RE.app"
The zip does not include the CLIProxyAPI binary that Use your subscription needs: install it with brew install cliproxyapi (or put cli-proxy-api on PATH).
Note: it shares the official Cursor's data folder (~/.cursor) and cursor:// links.
Cursor RE 3.24.18-re.3
Cursor RE for macOS (Apple silicon), built from 379f90a9.
Based on Cursor 3.24.18 (commit be4c9e53), VS Code 1.128.0, Electron 42.10.0. Local mode is on: add your own OpenAI / Anthropic compatible endpoints under Settings > Models > Custom Providers; no Cursor account needed.
What's new
- Fix: "[deadline_exceeded] Agent Execution Timed Out" on Test connection and every agent turn once a newer official Cursor (3.27+) had run on the same machine. It stores the login token encrypted, which this build failed to decode, so the agent runtime never started. Such tokens now read as signed out; the official Cursor's login is left alone.
- Use your subscription: a built-in Subscriptions provider runs models on your Claude Pro/Max, ChatGPT (Codex) and SuperGrok accounts through a local CLIProxyAPI sidecar. Sign in from the card; each account shows its plan and remaining usage, can be switched off or given its own proxy, and advanced routing (round robin, sticky sessions, retries, cooldowns) applies without a restart.
- Thinking: custom provider models get the reasoning effort chosen in the picker; Codex and Grok models show reasoning summaries.
- Marketplace without the Cursor backend: browse and install plugins from public GitHub marketplaces (Cursor's and Claude Code's by default, more via Add Marketplace); installs stay on this machine.
- Local first: no traffic to Cursor's API, telemetry or update servers; Cursor RE never downloads the official Cursor update.
- Subagents with an empty model inherit the parent's model instead of failing to start; chats saved on Auto or a Cursor-hosted model fall back to a custom model.

Cursor RE 3.24.18-re.2
Cursor RE for macOS (Apple silicon), built from 61a8762.
Based on Cursor 3.24.18 (commit be4c9e53), VS Code 1.128.0, Electron 42.10.0. Local mode is on: add your own OpenAI / Anthropic compatible endpoints under Settings > Models > Custom Providers; no Cursor account needed.
What's new
- Custom Providers settings redesigned: presets (Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Ollama, LM Studio), provider tabs, searchable model list with context-window chips, clearer connection errors.
- Settings > Usage: requests, tokens, estimated cost and cache hit rate for your providers; daily chart, breakdowns by provider / model / project, a request table with CSV export, and an activity heatmap.
- Token counts like Claude Code: the live turn stats now include tool-call arguments.
- DevTool: a DEV tab on the right edge of the window (drag to move) with app info, local sign-in (name, email, plan, sign in / out), providers, recent requests and window utilities. Log In / Log Out sign in and out locally; nothing is sent to Cursor.
